BOTS sitting on login page, but never logging in or registering, or doing other than sitting there.   Can you help get rid of them or  suggest what I should do, please?

Why would you want to get rid of them? Is there some issue being caused on your site due to these? I ask as what you are describing is perfectly normal

Thank you MARC.  I did not realize this was "normal", as it seems to occur on a random basis.  None for months, then boom, in the blink of an eye, almost a hundred show up. I guess you might say I was a tad disconcerted.

Yup. The major crawlers tend to come every so often and when they do, they might have several different spidering instances crawling the site at the same time.
