Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted November 11, 20222 yr I haven't used IPS since 3.1, when does the statistics block update the statistics to match the actual number? I noticed it wasn't going up for me until I edited the block again manually, am I missing something?
November 11, 20222 yr Community Expert If you edit blocks like that manually, it will then never change, as you have manually said "I want it to say this". You would need to recreate the block and it would then count itself. Bearing in mind that blocks are cached, so would only update periodically throughout the day, based on block cache in System->Settings->Advanced Configuration
November 11, 20222 yr Author Where would the block caching method be in that page? Is it the Data Storage? Should I set it to Redis?
November 11, 20222 yr Community Expert Its on the first tab at the bottom under performance. If you are asking if you should use redis, the answer is probably no.
November 11, 20222 yr Author Ah okay. So I deleted the block, saved, Re-added the Member Stats & Forum Stats blocks, and haven't hit the "Edit" button on them, so i'm hoping it's good to go now... It's set to 5 minutes (default), so I'm assuming it'll work. I do have another issue in the admin CP i keep getting a notification about dangerous PHP extensions, i'll make a new topic about that. November 11, 20222 yr Author No problem 🙂 Hopefully that should sort the issue Unfortunately, it didn't. I posted a couple more times, waited the 5 mins, still says 94 posts. 😞
November 11, 20222 yr Community Expert Please check this again tomorrow, as stats themselves would only update once per day
