Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
jagardel Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Hello, new in 4.x and I was wondering how can I add html in forums description (e.g gametracker stats in forums description).
Flitterkill Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Grab the web/blog embed code (not the forum code) <a href="http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/l4d22.gcftw.com:27015/" target="_blank"><img src="http://cache.www.gametracker.com/server_info/l4d22.gcftw.com:27015/b_560_95_1.png" border="0" width="560" height="95" alt=""/></a> On the forum description, on the bottom where you can drag/drop an image, look over to the right. There is a button for "insert other media". Click that and choose "insert image from url". In the embed code you copied, pull out the link to the image (the bit after the src=" - up through the .png.) In the above example it would be this: http://cache.www.gametracker.com/server_info/l4d22.gcftw.com:27015/b_560_95_1.png You might be able to just paste that bit straight in without using insert other media button. That gets you the tracker. Now, with your cursor hovering over the image that should now be displaying in the description editor hold down ctrl and then right click. All images in the forums, etc have this option available, Choose "edit image" Now, you can do junk with it. Including adding a url. Pull out the link you need from the tracker code - ignore the target = blank junk. Using the above example it would be this: http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/l4d22.gcftw.com:27015/ And you should be good to go. Just fyi, there is a new setting for the IPS suite that pulls in remotely linked images and caches and hosts them locally (so https links appear secure in browsers). This *might* slow down how often your tracker graphic updates if you run this setting on. I actually don't know, not tested, but thought you should know.
