How about added an option to the suite that goes across all applications so that any link that goes away from the domain website is halted at a standby page so people know they are leaving the website and not just click and move to another website. This feature can be turn on or off and the icon/logo can be change to what the owner wantes. Here and example on Deviantart on a example page does it.

ahh that why it would be for the owner to choose to have them up are not. It's more of security.

4.0 does munge links to prevent the leaking of CSRF keys - but it does this silently.

I think people know when they click a link in a post that they'll be taken to an external site.
