I've read it, but I'm still somewhat unsure if I understood it correctly... I want to be able to look at the BBcode directly (no magic annoying wysiwyg and be able to use the buttons in that mode). So my question is, is this how it will be in 3.4? And how will it look?

There were a lot of complaints about this not working and I think Matt did say that it would be implemented so yes I would hope to see it in 3.4. It will probably look just like it does now though as it's still CKEditor, but I do know that AJAX loading of the editor has been removed too so it should also load much faster when replying to stuff.

We will blog about changes in 3.4 in due course. Matt was simply logging some techy details now for documentation purposes, both internally and for third party developers. I wouldn't worry too much about 3.4 docs just yet.
