Makoto Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 You can set a time restriction on editing posts, but how about deleting them? Every now and then, a user makes a post in the wrong section and edits it out asking a moderator to delete it, or accidentally makes a double post here an there, but here is no "safe" way to give basic members delete permissions. Why not allow members to delete their posts within a time limit, just as you can with editing?
Rimi Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Isn't soft delete a safe way to give members acccess to delete functions?
Makoto Posted July 6, 2012 Author Posted July 6, 2012 Isn't soft delete a safe way to give members acccess to delete functions? In a sense. You could just let users "hide" posts, but I like the idea of being able to let users actually delete their posts within a time limit and not have to worry about monitoring all posts that are hidden to check for abuse.

And make your mod's job a little easier.....just say'in
Makoto Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 It might also make sense to give users the ability to delete started threads simply until a response is posted.
