Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
IBTheme Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 1.) It would be really great to have some sort of feature that would notify admin when a certain member is online. Like PM or email notice stating that member XXXXX is now online.2.) while we have the ability to edit permissions for all user groups, I would like to see the option to set individual permissions per member. (optional of course, and if this option is ignored then that member would fall under the standard permissions already set for his current group.)3.) Editable profiles where members can change their profile appearances to reflect their personality. Kinda like you can do on my space, or even in the IP.Blog. Where members can add blocks, remove them, change the page layout, etc.4.) Standard global forum message that can be turned on or off and easily edited from the admin cp home page.

(optional of course, and if this option is ignored then that member would fall under the standard permissions already set for his current group.) i'm guessing these would overide global permissions but the technicalities of doing this is quite big and at this late stage couldn't make it into ipb3. To be honest just make a grp for each member :P. 3.) Editable profiles where members can change their profile appearances to reflect their personality. Should be easier with the hookable skins to do tho.
Alex Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 3) http://forums.ahmodding.co.uk/blog/ahm_news/index.php 4) Would be very easy to achieve with the hook skin points :)
IBTheme Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Thank you Alex! Thanks Jaggi, I have not kept up with matt's blog, so I had no idea. Thanks for the info. :)
Amy T Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I like all of then and number 3 I suggested in another thread.
Amy T Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 ipb already said they didn't want to go down this route, see matts personal blog. No he said he did not want Social networking and skinning your profile to me is not social networking. It was a mod for 1. some thing that did some thing like this that got me into IPB in the first place and that was long before social networking came out. Although the mod was more to allow you to have a customer subforum that could be skinned the way you wanted.
