Guest maukka Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 We have ipb 2.0.4 with over 3 million post and over 10000 members, so mysql server got a problems with database size. We are working now new database-server: Quad Core Xeon 2GHz + 8GB ram (web-server is Dual Core Xeon + 4GB ram) Is that new server good enough solution and do you have any ideas for speed up forum database? (we don't want do delete any topics/post & remember that is Big database) any ideas? p.s sorry about bad english
rct2·com Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 The problem with not deleting posts is the time it takes MySQL to run searches. The searches are on non-indexed columns in the posts table [the post content]. If only IP.Board had features to convert old topics/forums/posts into static pages.....
