Problems Importing Skin

I get the following error when I try to import a skin:

IPB WARNING [2] move_uploaded_file(/home/soanime/public_html/beta/uploads/ipb_skin-champloo.xml.gz): failed to open stream: Permission denied (Line: 538 of /home/soanime/public_html/beta/sources/lib/admin_functions.php)
IPB WARNING [2] move_uploaded_file(): Unable to move '/tmp/php83Hbkj' to '/home/soanime/public_html/beta/uploads/ipb_skin-champloo.xml.gz' (Line: 538 of /home/soanime/public_html/beta/sources/lib/admin_functions.php)

Is this a bug, or am I missing something? :blink:

The error kind of tells you what's wrong. CHMOD anyone?

I'm pretty sure I've made all the necessary CHMOD permission changes.

You may have some mods installed? You may also want to update your skin cache... :)

I always have this problem...and .KX is correct. You think you have it, but your missing what the errors are telling you.

CHMOD this file: admin_functions.php

And CHMOD this folder: uploads

Both to 777.

Also, when you do this, please let me know if you are able to use a skin...I am unable to add a skin, it just times out, and never finishes loading. Ive read that PHP5.2 fixes this issue, but I dont want to upgrade if need not to.

It would be a bad idea to CHMOD a script to 777....

The problem relies on the files I believe, try re uploading & try a fresh install...my 2.1.7 had tha..even though I changed the files BUT I upgraded the database to 2.2 version and it works =O

I've only had this problem once tho.

On saying that, you are correct. You don't CHMOD that file to 77, you just need to CHMOD the uploads and skin_cache I think...can't really remember.
