Internal Improvements

A lot of internal improvements have been implemented to help performance. Profiling has been done on many errors of the board as well to outline bottlenecks and focus efforts on the areas that need it most. Some highlights:

6. Unused SQL columns removed

Does this mean that columns which were added by modifications will be removed when a forum is updated to v2.2

or

that original IPB columns which have been depreciated will be removed, but other columns which were not IPB original will remain

I think he means the columns that used to be apart of IPB that eventually got phased out of the program that still remained in the database structure.

Grant is correct.

For example, legacy_password was removed... and will be dropped by the upgrader.

If you compare the mysql_tables from 2.1.7 to the one in 2.2 (it's not encoded) you'll be able to see the changes in the database structure.

I was suprised to see the tables looked more structured and it seems as if it uses less storage, but it's hard to tell on a fresh install.
