What Matt was saying IPB can do (and has done for years) is resize the original image to a thumbnail and display THAT in the post, instead of the original image (i.e., in your case, the 1.5MB image). Many people may very well want to retain the ability to upload large images (i.e. a graphics site), so no assumptions can be made on this. Your suggestion can be taken into consideration however.
Luke Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 This auto resize thing you're doing.... Does it do it to a set size, or can you make it detect the width of the post container and size it to that if it goes over. That actually wouldnt be hard to do.
bfarber Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 It follows the same logic spawn used - it resizes to 50% of screen width, so it will be proportionate to the user's browser window, not with a fixed size.
