Vagr Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 IP ban and cookie ban cant do anything. there's so called super ban suggested here:http://antichat.ru/txt/superban/ it is in russian but i assume that technicians are aware of this new generation ban system. it would be great if you add this feature.
primexx Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 at the very least provide a translation...In the article is examined so-called "superban"' date=' in contrast to the usual methods of bana, such as ban with IP- address, on niku or according to Cooks, "superban" it blocks user according to the individual characteristics of its machine. Interlock system on individual kharaketristikam of machine recently acquires increasingly more popularity in interactive web- systems - in the chat rooms, forums, guest books and the like an increase in the popularity is explained by deficiencies in the traditional methods of bana. Blocking on IP address easily bypasses with the use of proxy- servers. Blocking on Cooks or niku is removed by the removal of Cooks or by the creation of new akkaunta. At the same time, to go around superban so is not easy, since the majority of users even do not know on what principle he it is based. As an example of superbana, let us examine the system of bana, used in forums FastBB (http://fastbb.ru). The page of forum contains the special script, which is carried out in the machine of user, and which determines the parameters of its machine. The purpose of this script - to form the unique key, on which the system will determine users. Key in each machine must differ from the keys in other machines, and to at the same time be constant.[/quote']
Rikki Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 As far as I know, there is nothing in the variables PHP provides that can uniquely identify a particular machine and which couldn't be changed. Obscurity in a PHP script is useless since anyone can view the code and work out how it is done.
