Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted January 25, 200519 yr A way to auto-parse hyperlinks based on certain keywords would be awesome. For example, via the admin panel, a admin would set it up so that everytime a user enters the word "lameduck", in a post or PM, that would be parsed to a specified link, for example, "http://www.lameduck.com/". Also, an option could be implanted to parse links such as "Lameduck.com" automatically.
January 27, 200519 yr couldnt you use the Badword Filter?<{POST_SNAPBACK}> That would not work because it would parse hyperlinks in topic titles.
January 31, 200519 yr That would not work because it would parse hyperlinks in topic titles.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Does that work?
January 31, 200519 yr That would not work because it would parse hyperlinks in topic titles.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> not if it was coded such that only the post content was put through the filter
February 5, 200519 yr not if it was coded such that only the post content was put through the filter<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Coded...exactly. Coding requires work.

May 14, 200519 yr I think it would be better off as a mod, but with the added optional function of a small pop-up type display that could be used for defining words (with links in them too), as some sites use that concept for doing advertising. Either as a mod, or as an optional add-on module pre-supported by IPB

Either as a mod, or as an optional add-on module pre-supported by IPB Yeah, I guess not everyone would use it. But something that should be an option is to parse hyperlinks automatically from just "www.domain.com" or "domain.com".
