My inquiry: I'm wondering if anyone in the community has experience with, recommendations for, or an implementation of a global category system in IPS4+. I would like the browser notifications feature to either be opt-in or disabled completely. I do not want every user's browser to ask for permission to push notifications when they visit the site. Is there a way to disable or otherwise control this feature? I have not seen any options on it.

I'm fairly sure that patches are included in a .1 update (for example, 4.19.1 is likely to be released soon) but I was wondering if the passive approach to updates I am now able to have as a Cloud customer also applies to patches? Can I assume that a patch is included if I update to 4.1.19 right now or do I need to wait for 4.1.19.1?

After upgrading to IPB 4.1 from 3.4.x I found hundreds of these orig_ibf_ tables that I beleive is no longer necessary once the upgrade was completed. Are they safe to remove? They take up a lot of DB space. for me about 1,9 GB.

We've recently migrated from 3.4.x to 4.1. I really like the Activity Streams feature in v4 but this opinion is not shared across our community. Is there any way to simplify Activity Streams for all users by default so that it functions more like View New Content in 3.x or can we configure the default functionality? (e.g. sorting) I appreciate it is a conceptual design change but we need to address it within our community. Thank you Rich

I am using point system and I want to be able to provide my members with the ability to buy upgrades and subscriptions both with real money and points. Unfortunately I cannot select the points as a currency, because IPS does a background check of a currency codes. Is there any way to disable this check without breaking the suite? I guess I can use some obscure currency, but is not very user friendly, because I will have to explicitly add description what this obscure currency is (probably in a sidebar block) because there is no description field attached to the currency.

How to decide which rating system to use Hello, I watch that here there is also the like (heart) button on the right, but also the possibility to vote up or down. I guess this is something thats customised since the system admin allows you just to choose between rating systems. - right? I know what they mean and how they work, but i d like to perhaps know the reasons why you would choose the one or the other? is there an existing discussion on that perhaps?

I want to try to have members only access the database. Currently when I set it so guests cannot access database files I get the message below. How do I customize this so that it can say "sign up to access" or something. I saw a reference in settings for community but not the database. Thanks! Appreciate any help can give. I had a topic that was auto hidden because the user was on mod approval Upon deleting the hidden topic the main forum page now shows when I click on the -1 it goes to the next page which says but there clearly are topic in that section if I click the Start the First Topic button it takes me to the post screen any advice on what's happened and how to remove the notification from the main forum page please ?

Hello, I entered the wrong .htaccess password a few times too many and then got locked out. Now, when using my normal IP, I cannot get my page's domain to load at all. I tested the page on two neighboring networks and I am able to access the page fine. I've also since correctly-guessed my .htaccess password and could get into the ACP, but could not find anything about a blocked IP. It's been over a couple hours and I still cannot get my page to load. I've tried multiple browsers and even accessing it from a virtual machine, but that's blocked too since it just NIC teams to my host's IP. I'm finding adding images to posts a little unintuitive, and so are my members because they are asking me to add such a feature - not realizing it is already there! I saw a discussion here from 3 years ago, but not sure on current status. From what I see to upload an image to a post, the member clicks "Drag files here to attach, or choose files... " and can then upload. Problem is, I cannot see how to then form any text around that image, because it does not appear in the body of the new post editor...? Most user interfaces have an picture icon, you click on it and an image is uploaded to the cursor position - this is what people are used to and works …
