It would be nice if we can filter the theme differences. For example, I have forums license only, and I want only to see the theme differences in there only or I want to see System --> globalTemplate only etc.... I don't really need to see a very long page of other apps that I don't use. Theme Differences - Invision Community

In busy threads, occasionally, a post may need to be deleted or edited and doing that quickly can stop problems from spiralling out of control. But, because the page needs to be refreshed or loaded fresh for the moderation to take effect, there's a delay which means that several minutes after a post may have been deleted or hidden, those reading the thread can still see it and respond to it. A great solution for this would be to have a live system where post moderation can be updated on the fly without needing a page load or refresh. With the new live features in terms of viewers and people posting already available, perhaps this could be an addition to that?

Here is a feature I would like and I believe others might want if they have forums that are more deep-discussion-heavy. Often in discussions there is what I call "thread drift." People take off on a new discussion on a different subject. And it's a good discussion, but it derails the one the Topic was set up for. So setting up a new Topic for that new discussion and Splitting the relevant post to it makes a lot of sense. But the Topic post will always be the first post Split off from the original Topic. Sometimes this first post is not a good introduction and sometimes this even starts a Topic by a user who never starts Topics. If I start a n…

Hello, since my forums have many difficult subjects for which my readers need encouragement, I would like to establish an automated daily (interchanging) popup/display that will show everyday a different message from a selected list of empowering sentences. I would like that to have - a background color (or image, if possible but not necessary) -fonts that can be change in size - a permanent website logo on that popup so that they know this comes from us and is not an advertisment not something more. I would like it to be very clean, neutral, no titles, no lines/other deco, and to dissapear after a single scroll. …

Hi there, With the amount of spam that is coming through these days on spambots, one way to maybe curb this without having to do an extreme amount of moderation is to set it so that certain groups are unable to post links or URL's when they initially join a forum. For instance, when they initially join and start posting they can't post links or urls for their first X amount of posts - 10 posts perhaps. Most bots/spammers, when they get through, are going to immediately go into spamming their links, etc., which at that point just gets caught and says 'you can't do that', or a popup that says something to the effect. Most aren't going to bother to go through the proce…

The use of the Pages database relationship field creates a comma-separated list for outgoing and incoming links. This is usually fine when there are just a couple of entries. But there can also be hundreds of entries and then the field becomes way too limited. Suggestion: Ordering becomes an issue. With 100+ entries, there needs to be admin-defined ordering based on fields (e.g. title or custom fields) or something like record ID, publishing date et cetera. Just like it exists for the database itself. In fact, taking over the ordering from the specific database being linked would probably solve it for most cases. Pagination becomes necessary when ther…

It has often been pointed out that adding links to external Pages databases is problematic, when the external record doesn’t exist yet. That would need a way to add these external records while creating the record from the current database. This feature request is related but about the other direction. I run into this problem all the time with linked databases. Let’s say I have a book database and a separate “book list” database, where users can create lists of books using the database relationship field pointing to the book database. It would be expected, but it’s currently not possible to add a book to a book list while you are browsing the books. Instead I hav…

I like to use the Events/Calendar app to mark upcoming release dates for games/movies etc. But it would be great if there was some kind of support for a product’s release date anniversary. At the moment, I can add an event specifically for a game’s past release anniversary (ie. “Release Date for Super Mario Bros on NES”) and state in the event description / event title that it is the game’s Xth Anniversary on that day. But I need to manually edit the event every year to update the details, and I’d rather that be automated in some way - especially if there are lots of event entries created for this purpose. Maybe it could take the form of a “show anniversaries” c…

Quick suggestion: The current method is to navigate a drop-down menu in the AdminCP Dashboard to switch between light and dark modes, which is a pain to use on tablets. A simple light/dark toggle icon could replace or supplement this.

One item holding me up from moving to the cloud hosted plan is the lack of SFTP access. Even if this was to a single folder in the uploads directory or something, it's all I need. My feature request is some type of uploading capability. Perhaps it's there and I don't know it. I need this because I upload advertising banners to a nonstandard directory, then use custom code to call them. This way, no ad blockers block my ads. I also use SFTP to upload the audio MP3 of my articles, then put them into the articles with the code below. I would attach the MP3, but this displays how many times each article is listened to for some reason, and the accuracy of it is ques…

The IPS anti-spam system works like a sieve. Bots pass freely as a rule. Why is there no filter for registration by location (country)? I have all bots, for example, from foreign IP. I would like to see an order of magnitude more flexible anti-spam configuration system (this is without the IPS anti-spam service!)

It would be a big time saver to be able to directly reply to a post on the activity feeds. Instead of having to open the thread and post a reply there, give a reply button which opens a reply text box directly beneath the item on the stream page.

Currently, you have to open an item before it will be marked as read. In the Expanded activity view where the response text is visible, you can often read the entire response. Having a one-click option to mark a response as “read” (thinking checkbox) would be a real time saver since many people will use this as a type of “inbox”. Thinking through the page logic, you would probably want to immediately update the item status as "read" in the database, but not actually refresh page content. In case a mistake was make, user could uncheck the box in order to reset it as "unread" in the database.

I don't know about you, but I'm wondering if it's perhaps overdue that IPS got stuck into a huge performance and speed based review and implement it in the next medium sized update! I think a lot has changed in recent years in relation to site performance. Core Vitals in Lighthouse as many admins will be aware are now much more important in terms of SEO ranking, performance isn't just for the obsessed enthusiasts any longer! Google Search Console tells me that on one of my IPS Communities, my Mobile Pagespeed test result sucks, just 28%-30% at present, so I started checking a few things under the hood. I like to keep my sites high performing, so I was quite surprised…

Referring to the new changes in 4.7.8 (UI Polish in Invision Community 4.7.8), it's also worth taking a look at: This section has far too much padding, the buttons on the mobile version are not next to each other, but below each other, which take up half the phone screen. I suggest to use ipsFlex instead of old ipsGrid. After a slight modification, I got this look: Clearer right?

Hello, I am sure this feature was there or maybe on another forum software, but I remember that if you past content with an image remotely hosted, the forum would take that picture and host it on your server to avoid futur broken links. Is my memory playing tricks on me? Am I missing something?

Hello all, Regarding a recent topic of mine. @Jim M suggested I make a formal feature suggestion. Regarding the Checkout process for Subscription Packages or Donations (or anything involving the checkout process). We recently had the issue whereby bots would continuously try to make donations, ultimately this would fail. However the bot would proceed to do the literally hundreds of times over the period of a few hours. We want to keep our donations open to legitimate Guests for income reasons, but at the moment this comes at the risk of a bot attack. While we could block some of these attacks at the server level, this is not very efficient as the location…

It would be interesting to see the IPS system have its own report tracker. Today it is possible to create using the "PAGES" application, however this becomes inaccessible to customers with little experience in programming, forcing the customer to make purchases from third parties, and unfortunately some sellers here in the community have the bad habit of closing tasks and just don't answer us anymore. This is more than essential for any area of activity, but more clearly, I believe that for stores and services focused on development it would be paramount. A report tracker where you can: set status, Define type of statuses to be created, Define cust…
