I don't know why it is not of the core feature of Invision, but when I, as admin, take care of a report and close it, i would expect that the user who opens the report will get a status notification back.
Is there something in the marketplace that handles the future?

Is the pre-defined message sent automatically when closing a report?

You go to a reporter. Click on the button. Choosing a predefined message. Choose the users and the message with be sent.
