Add gallery images to post

Not sure where to file this , ipb or ipgallery

What I'm after is the following
When making a post, is there an option or a mod that when you click will allow you to insert images from your gallery?

Just like the "insert link" button or "insert image" button - although this only works on external images

If not, can this please please please be a feature of 3.0

I can get around it by either adding a link direct to the gallery image or creating an iframe (yes I do use them, they can be useful in certain circumstances)
this is very difficult when adding more than one image.

This is already bult-in to IP Board and IP Gallery.

In the setup for IP Gallery under Misc:Other is an entry "Display hotlinking options?". Set that to yes.

Now, go to Gallery and find the picture you want to display in a post. On the right side of the page, there will be a box with 4 entries:
BBCode, HTML, Image Link, and Page Link.

Left-CLick within the box for Image Link. The entry will be highlighted. Then, with the mouse stlil inside the boundary of the link-box right-Click and choose "Copy"

Go to Forum, start a post. Click the "Insert Image" button in the Editor. When the box pops up, press CTRL-Insert and the info will be pasted. Accept that, and your picture will now be displayed once the post is saved.

What I have said is that is there an option or a mod for images to be posted directly from the gallery when making a post, meaning without leaving the post.
As in, an additional button that will then allow the user to browse their gallery and add the image that way, rather than having to keep going backwards and forwards copying and pasting links for images and having to edit the post.

CTRL-click the button at the top of your posting page, the one titled "Gallery", to open another tab within Internet Explorer.
Since you indicate you want to view the picture to choose it in the first place, I can't see the difference?

I'd like to see someone try adding an image from their gallery to a post without previewing it

I understand what your saying, but I think you're missing the point that I'm trying to make
For single images this is fine, but multiple images, this is a long and cumbersome process
All it needs is a small lightbox type feature where they can select multiple thumbnails for insertion

Why should I force my users to open 2 windows for hotlinking?
Why can't they have this option that I am talking about? It's ease of use.

Seems I can do everything else easily except link a gallery image without having to open 2 windows

Someone else has already made a request that there could be a "send/link to blog" type feature for posts - again, ease of use, saves copying and pasting

Ah, OK, I see what you're getting at... A popup/lightbox wherein clicking the image (or one of a list of thumbnails) would directly paste the correctly enclosed IMG link to the already open post editor. Do-able as a Mod I think, but I can't recall seeing anything like that before.

Is your intended use, for users wanting to create detailed tutorials with "follow-along" pictures or something like that? If so, I agree that would definitely be handy.

Just the ability to post multiple gallery images with ease, rather than getting hotlink codes

Even a "link gallery to post" option (like there is in the blog) would be good
