Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Brandon D Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 On the "The moderating team" page, if a group is moderator, only list the group name... not every single person within that group. I have a group with 750+ members in it. My PHP memory_limit was getting hit when viewing that page, and wouldn't even display it. List the group name and link it to the find members within that group page.
Mark H. Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 You have a group with 750+ plus members that you gave MODERATOR priveleges to?!?!?!? The concept just boggles my mind. :D
Brandon D Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Just for the ability to edit other people's posts in that single subforum. It's for lists, and rather than one or a couple people having to update the original topic constantly, we allow everyone to edit it. The 750+ people are further narrowed by permission masks. Not everyone in that group has permissions to that subforum. When you see "Forum led by" under the subforum, it shows the group name, not every single member. The "Moderating Team" page should follow this. Better yet (in addition to the above), allow us to check which moderators or moderator groups appear on that page. I don't want IPS' admin account for support appearing up top with the three other real admins.
Mark H. Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Ah, ok. In that case, it makes sense. Hmm... investigate assigning a secondary group maybe, with the secondary one having the mod priveleges? (No idea if that's a good lead or not, I've never used secondary groups.)
Renita Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 I actually agree with this suggestion. If a single member is moderated in a forum, it makes sense that the single name shows up in the moderating team. So why is everyone within a group mentioned if the *group* is the one with the moderator rights in a forum?
