Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
ArSoX Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Hello people... this is my first time here in the forum, sorry if this is not the correct section to post my question of helpI'm not a admin of a IPB forum, just a moderator. I have one doubt...I really need to limit signature... The users in our forum have long singnatures, but my admin say that it's impossible to limit correctly like number of characters or lines?Because what they say to me is that the only think that we can limit is the number of bytes, but that sucks because there are images with for example X bytes bigger then others in the same number of bytes. So, my really question is if there is another way to limit the signatures?Thx in advance and pleaso, sorry my bad english!
Mat Barrie Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 These limitations are possible (and if they weren't a mod would be possible to do it). However, this isn't a support forum so you need to ask at IPS Beyond. Although if you aren't the guy who paid for the license, that's not possible.
atomicknight Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 You can set the maximum character length of signatures via the ACP. The "bytes" it refers to is the size of the bbCode text, not of the images, etc. (which would be extremely resource-intensive to check).
