Topic Urgency Levels?

I know there is huge potential for this to be inappropriately used, or have no use at all.. however, I think it would be very useful if there was some way of setting topics as "urgent" or something similar. It could be used very nicely in moderator's forums, notification forums, and especially on "services" forums, (skins, software, customer support).

Perhaps there could be a setting on who could use this feature to eliminate the misuse.

Pinned topics? Announcements? News? How is this ida different?

Pinned topics are for long term viewing... not, for example, a quick "heads up" about something. Too many stickies is rather vulgar in my opinion.

Or replace the topic markers with some of your own, change the wording of the 'select topic marker' to something like 'select urgency level' - and bob's you're uncle!

This would be a great idea for a mod request, but not too sure that it would be so great for a "standard issue feature".
