Could we please be able to choose certian user groups to bypass password protection on forums?

The point of password protected forums is to only allow certain members of usergroups to access the forum.

If you only want a certain usergroups to read the forum, then use permission masks.

I believe he wants a certain usergroup to read the forums and certain members from other usergroups who know the password too. ^_^ Would be a nice option, IMO. I would have some uses for it...

I got the impression he wanted to be able to make a whole usergroup bypass the password function.

Either way, PM everyone who needs the password. there are other ways around it.

We could just add a "Bypass Password" option to the ever expanding permissions grid.
