I would like to see the calendar as a component, so it can be removed and added similar to the gallery etc.

That way we can freely remove it, replace it with a modded calendar etc.

Personal preference, but it would be good to see.

+1. I completly agree. It would also serve as a demo for the components system - so us coders can see a working example.

Yes, I agree. On one forum that I help moderate we dont use the calender, and have removed all the links, but the user can still access it by the exact location in the address bar. Being able to disable would help.
