I suggest you make the calendar like a 'module' (such as the subscriptions manager), i.e people can just remove the folder if they dont want the calendar installed on their forum.

that is a neat idea but at it's current state it would be hard to do as everything is interconnected, it would be hard to remove certain aspects.
