Tyler M. Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 When a mod/super admin uses the Admin CP there are certain things they can not see. I think it would be a good idea if the SMTP PASSWORD was at least blocked with the password field... so it was not readable i.e. ****** This is not a bad idea even for the Admin. Since it is a password, any attempt to block it from being readable even over the shoulder would be helpful... Is just a matter of finding the input field, and changing it to password?
outlaw Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 It still has to be stored as plain text, so any super admin could still see it. It would be pretty easy to switch it into a password text box.
Tyler M. Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 True, it would still be plain text... and it could be assumed the people who have access are trusted... but it would still be handy to at least visually be blocked. OR it would be handy to block the Email Settings for only Root Admins like the DB features. One of the two... guess I don't want people reading my email, and both my email address and password are easily exposed. (Note: It's not my primary email but it is used for the forums and webcontact)
