Please consider adding places or hooks or slots ... obviously I am not a developer ... so that we community admistrators can add a circle with a question mark or circle with an "i" inside that is universally regarded as a click point to elaborate on a field or function. Having these 'info circles' would be a big help for people who are not familiar with things like quoting a topic, uploading an image, adding information for a special application. It seems like coding this feature universally around the Invision Community platform would make it easy for an administrator to simply add an info circle with a text explanation for many acp features while inside the acp.…

Not sure if this should be suggested here or as a plugin for the text editor, but relative links back to sites on the same community should be possible. There are a few ways I can see doing this: Naked URIs. A link to /forum should be expanded to https://www.example.com/forum . Currently, this expands to https://%2Fforum. Use a replacement symbol. Razor (C#'s web rendering engine) uses ~, so a link to ~/forum should be expanded to https://www.example.com/forum. We could use other symbols too, but this comes with the benefit of familiarity. UI change, allowing us to select between an internal and external link. This could get infinitely more complex, e…

As discussed in the linked support thread, I have a page I've built using folders which lives at /docs/dmca/takedown-notice. When navigating to the page, this url is reflected in my url (friendly urls enabled), however the breadcrumbs simply contain the file name and omit the path. I would like pages to be able to build breadcrumbs, but this may require a bit of changes to how the page system works. Currently, in order to have a folder work as its own page, you have to create a page where the Page Filename is index.html. This automatically gets visually stripped from friendly urls. I see three implementation options: Require each folder to have an index.…

Google Authenticator - I just set this up and saw a few things that could be confusing to users. Authentication can be used with other Authenticators. SO you could use the Microsoft Auth App. Text should be updated to maybe " Enter code from your Authentication App" on entry. Maybe in the setup side of things, it should state the Authentication App of your choice. (ex. Microsoft or Google) with the QR code presented to users. Also im not sure how Googles App handles it but when you scan barcode into the Microsoft Auth App, the Site Name would be nice, currently it labels it email address. Thanks...

I had to spend a lot of time yesterday improving the size of product images in Commerce because they are in all honesty ridiculously tiny and fixing image alignment. e.g. Featured products widget = 140px Recent product reviews widget = 75px x 75px Store List View = 130px x 130px (making use of an image 2048x1461 in one case of mine) 🤯 Store Grid View= 160px height Why are they still limited to 160px and 130px dimensions in 2023? Commerce should also generate some resized images for use in various places where needed instead of only displaying a 1920x1080 or larger image as a thumbnail? It doesn't seem to use Lazyload images in some pla…

Could this be added to make IPS more user friendly on phones? The scrolling that needs to be done on phone devices is mammoth and there's no easy way up to get back to the top. Anyone else struggle with this? The only addon in Marketplace I could find is from 2015 and no longer compatible.

Bing Webmaster Tools has warned me that my site is missing meta tags like name="description" (and possibly others) on my forum threads that have more than one page...so on page 2, page 3, etc. Why are these tags missing on those pages? For example: Full meta tags: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/158669-not-celiacright/ Page 2 is missing meta tags: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/158669-not-celiacright/page/2/

I have a field called Title which is shown under the user's role in posts and on the user's profile in place of their role (thanks to theme template edits, if set. This field allows staff and donors to decorate their profile with a custom, short title. Because edit access should not be allowed to every user, I have the "Member can edit value?" field set to false in the permissions section of the field. However, this has an unfortunate side effect. Moderators and donors are now unable to change their own field, or for moderators, that of others. This field is not visible when editing profiles in the moderator cp. If someone wishes to use this perk, an admin must be co…

Forums and Blogs have Ratings but Clubs and Articles don't. Please provide Ratings feature on Club topics and Articles as well. On hovering over Ratings stars, the stars get unhilighted and don't restore (even if we don't click on them). The only way to restore the stars is to refresh the page. Breadcrumb missing on clicking on a Club card. On the Forum homepage, the Clubs widget lists only 10 clubs but when clicked on a Topic page, the Clubs widget lists all the Clubs (more than 10 clubs)

Hello, I wanted to suggest this so it's officially on your radar. Currently, we support Single SignOn by allowing for alternative (and perhaps multiple) logon providers to be specified. This allows us to log in via a Microsoft or other account. However, Single SignOff is not supported at this time. This leads to unexpected behavior where a user will attempt to sign off, perhaps to sign on to an alt (a common step for my staff who have separate, elevated admin accounts). Clicking the sign off button initiates a logout from the forum account, but when the site reloads it will automatically sign the user back in. As a temporary work-around, I have suggested my admi…

Each forum and club has it own RSS Feed in the icon menu at bottom right. When I visit the private Moderators club, there is an RSS Feed for the private club with the mod's member ID key. How do I disable the RSS Feed for Moderators only as it can contain private topics if shared inadvertently? I unchecked Moderators group in the new RSS Feed's Settings but when visiting each forum/club, there still appears an RSS Feed in the footer for the visited forum/club and this happens even for the private Moderator's club - the URL with the member ID private key. It is ok if moderators don't have access to RSS Feeds but not sure how to regenerate the new Member ID key or disa…

More of a future request this one to have on your radar as it wouldn't be possible at this time. With Elon tanking Twitter, sorry X, when it is, if it ever is possible, could we get Threads embedded the same way as we have Tweets or whatever he calls them now. Maybe being a little optimistic with this one though with Meta changing the api goalposts and not even having Instagram embeds.

I've found that since you added the ability to use hCaptcha (set to difficult level) I've seen a large drop in spam registrations. There used to be a plug-in for this, but please add the option to show the Captcha on the Sign In modal/form, not just the Registration. Another tool in the arsenal is always useful and compliments existing security features like 2FA.

I don't know if we have a dedicated area for suggestions to v5.x.x, so I'll just drop this here. If there is a better space for it, feel free to move this, there. Thanks. I suppose being a builder by trade is why dead space bothers me so much. Whenever I see some, I want to fill it with something to make use of it, otherwise I consider it wasted. I like a degree of balance that creates a symmetry. When the thread sidebar was introduced, this created such a condition that I hope can be rectified with an out of the box installation. Once you scroll down the page and get past "x" posts, all you are left with is dead space that is just begging to be filled wi…

I can see the need for having the ability to create a Forum Poll that is tied to the forum and not to a topic. Dor instance, a user clicks on a forum and sees the poll above the list of topics. This would be very beneficial to my site, and I am sure that others would have a use for it.

Currently, the only way to add links like Terms, Guidelines, etc. to the Footer is to modify the templates for each theme. The users should not find it difficult to locate these essential links on a site. It is surprising that IC lacks this basic feature after so many years. Please add a module to add custom links in the Footer. Also add options to Terms, Guidelines, etc. to include those links in the footer. Add a box to render custom HTML before/after the footer like a <hr> above the footer for better formatting and layout.

Hello, I would like to know. If I buy a license for $499 for self-hosting. And I won't pay $199 a year in the future. Will I be able to continue using the engine, or will it stop working in a year, until I pay $199

Hello everyone, I hope IPS listens to my suggestions. I have read many other suggestions that should be implemented in the core and they haven't been added for years. Some great functionalities have been even eliminated when they were great and made the application better. Please, @Jordan Miller bring these issues up with the team. The products and subscriptions modules lack a few functionalities. A very important one is being able to specify the expiration date. There is no way to do that right now. A member buys a subscription or a product and there is no way to automate the expiration date 😞 I believe that Invision wrongly assumes that a product should …

Please make tagged content show up in search results! I understand that users can go to "search by community" and then search by tag, but this is NOT how most users are going to try to search for content! If there's a way to do this, or if anyone knows of a workaround, I would great appreciate the feedback!

In vBulletin, there is an option to add to config.php to prevent users from registering with misleading usernames like "Moderator3", etc. Is there a way to prevent substrings like "admin" and "mod" in usernames? This is for IC Cloud hosting account.

1) It would be nice display Clubs in the widget on all pages which would be consistent. On my trial site, I have just one forum and no chance of going to list of forums to see the Clubs widget. 2) I understand clubs are just forums behind the scenes. But on hovering over a club card on Clubs page, it displays /club/2-General but on clicking the card, it displays /forum/... (I guess it was displaying /club/ in earlier version). Why not have /club/ in the URL which makes it look better? Or make the path configurable. 3) Breadcrumb missing on clicking on a Club card. 4) Forums and Blogs have Ratings. Clubs and Articles would be great with Ratings. 5) On h…
