Help is never far away though. 😀

With v4, I regularly ran into the, There are no applications available to upgrade page. Which usually was corrected by backing the page up and then reasserting. This is the first I have run into the issue with v5. I don't know what the problem is but it does seem to be persistive (is that even a word?). It would help the anxiety levels here greatly, when it comes to upgrading, if it could be looked at and resolved. Not that you don't have a lot of other things on your plate...

Matt can clarify but usually, this is a good thing, that is the system seeing a discrepancy in your database compared to what we have for the database schema in code so the system wants to ensure everything is set correctly before attempting the upgrade. Hopefully, this will prevent issues moving forward with the upgrade. You can fix it automatically generally most of the time but if you're self-hosted, if it fails to run, you'll want to run it manually on your MySQL database.

@Jim M Thanks. It's nothing to do about our last tickets ? :

The query there is removing a database index for a profile field, whereas the patch was related to some data inconsistencies of previously deleted data in Forums. So you should be fine here related to that particular issue. As always with performing an upgrade, backup, backup, backup :)

Ok thanks.

My community has upgraded without an issue, yet again. 🥳

I'm getting very good results with 5.0.7. Anyway subsequent tests varies from 69 to 99 percentage. On desktop tests I get excellent results consistently.

The only "issue" I had was the advertising, if I put a block on top of the page above the content, the performance decreases exponentially.

This is the balance you must find.

As soon as you start adding images, and more JS then things start heading lower but then is your priority as a community owner to create the fastest page possible, or create a rich community that is partially funded through advertising?

Pagespeed is important, but so is paying the bills and having functionality that humans need.

This happens because your block does not have a fixed height. That is, after downloading an ad, a block recalculation follows and this causes a decrease in performance.

Try setting a fixed height in the block (according to the height of the ad image) - you will have better results in the test.
