Hey team, it's been 84 years (if you know you know), but...

We're excited to announce that Invision Community 4.6.0 Beta 1 is officially live! 🎉

@Matt has a blog post on the way detailing all of the amazing additions, including how many commits and lines of code that were changed. A lot. The answer is a lot.

Just to refresh your memories, some of the biggest changes/additions include:

It's available per request for Cloud customers or, if you're self-hosted, by manually downloading it.

Self-hosted: please make the necessary backups before upgrading. Because this is a Beta, please understand there is an inherent risk when upgrading.

The more information/feedback we get, the better we can optimize and improve things 🙂

If you find something and would like to submit a bug, please do so here.

Looking forward to hearing what you think! Sound off in the replies below.

That's exactly what we expected!

Ohh no, I install beta and now I can't download any apps.😐

Is there a workaround?

I can't revert back to 4.5

That would be because none of them are compatible with IPS 4.6.0

Restore the backup you took before upgrading

Ah!!!

@Jordan Invision right here is an example of why you should be putting in a "DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR PRODUCTION SITE UNLESS YOU REALLY KNOW THE CONSEQUENCES" comment to your post.

I have a backup but a few members sign up since I install the beta. I guess I'll have to wait until the dev update their apps.

I kind of like the old system before this marketplace, where I could download files no matter which version IPS I was using.

For transparency's sake – I amended the post to include that per the suggestion.

OK! I'm super eXcited!

I am happy that Invision eXists and has for a very long time.

I am, as of today, beginning to offer my MaD AdMin SkillZ for hire on my web presences. Mostly because I have taken my 3 community sites about as far as I can for now.

But I digress, this is about U'All and the AmaZing work that you DO!

Zo, Keep iT up and I look for to the actual APP for the PhoneZ that is supposed to be still coming?

I hope I haven't missed something in that regard.

Anyway!

ThanX again and here is to US selling a great SaaS product! 🍾🥳

Beta versions, as a rule of thumb, should not be used on a live installation. That is what test forums are for.

Anyways, looking forward to take the new version for a test drive. Many thanks to the great and amazing Ips team for all their hard work.

Nice, I say that the beta is for those that has a test site and not for YOUR LIVE site 🙂 I'll wait for the app to be more stable and third-party apps have updated there themes and whatnot 🙂

has the new ACP dashboard been included?

Nice version !

Congratulations for all team Invision ❤️

Any updates to subscriptions?

Does it have WebP?

Yes

Gave it a spin last night when I saw it go live in the client area.

Got it set up on my Mac… Here comes hours of work on setting up achievements after work tonight. Yay. 😂

I would stick with it. We don't expect a long beta testing phase so you won't be without a marketplace for too long.

The real question here is do I do it now or wait till 4.30pm on Friday to royally break everything.

4:58pm on a Friday, and remove a few random upgrader files.

Great to see you keep pumping out more and more substantial upgrades and features at a regular pace.
Do you have a ballpark estimate on when the stable version is planned to release?

Really tedious thing I know, but it would be great to have a copy to clipboard button when manually having to run queries on update

All depends on feedback from beta testers.

Thanks for the reply @Charles. Do you have any target date (even a rough one), or are you going completely for the "more feedback - more test time" strategy?
