Does the default value field on custom form fields (e.g. with databases) allow for variables or does it only accept raw text? For instance, if I have an email field, is there a way to configure its default value to be that of the currently signed in user?

Wondering if there's an option that would add a little arrow on the side of any screens in the IPS software that scroll down. Clicking on the arrow would take the viewer back to the top of the page. Is that an option? Thanks!

Now that Marketplace is gone, does IPS have advice on how to find an app? I'm trying to figure out the difference between a Subscription and a Product with automatic renewal. The differences I see between them seem to be very slight, such as showing up under Subscriptions rather than Store and products generally having a lot more in the way of configuration. In my case, I want to offer subscription packages for my game server, with each package providing in-game and on-forum benefits. Functionally, I plan to use the webhooks API to be able to publish purchase events to my game server, which will then handle providing the perks to the player. Would subscriptions or products with automatic renewal be better for me in this situation?

Hope I'm posting this in the correct spot. We're spending some time working on the ranks/badges section of IPS, and the options in there are really great. The major part of our website is not on IPS and is a trading pin database. Users are able to add to that database, and our database programmer has put in a way to count "points" for different actions in the database. Originally, my idea was to see about getting a plug-in made by one of the great devs here to take the points from our database and add them to the appropriate accounts in the IPS software. Just want some more information about how Stripe works with subscriptions when it comes to taxes. Stripe has "Stripe Tax" which helps you manage your tax codes and will correctly determine the tax amounts and rules based on customer location. When I set up Stripe as my payment method, and someone makes a subscription purchase on my community, once they get to the payment part, are the customers actually checking out with the Stripe system? and will it incorporate the Stripe Tax system if it is set up in stripe correctly? I have read the walkthrough on setting it up in CP and will have no issue with that part but I am new to using payments, API and web hooks…

Hi, I am having some trouble identifying why my zap is not triggering when a member is updated. Can anyone elaborate on what information Invision is classing as an edit? Results have been inconsistent with editing members; I have tried the below with varying success and plenty of wait time between the changes to allow the system to check: Display name change Email change Primary or secondary group change Custom field change The zap takes the edited member information and inserts the updated data in a Google Sheet which applies some logic then triggers another action which will update the member if something important in the sheet chan…

I understand how to make different member groups and tiers of subscribers, but I would like to do a slow or silent launch that allows me to have members sign up for the regular-priced subscription, for example, $49 per year, and these people will be known as "Members." Once a club is created by the user, there doesn't appear to be a way to change the privacy setting except by admin intervention. There also doesn't seem to be a permission to allow club owners to change club visibility/privacy. Does this exist or should I make a request for such a feature? Example use case: User creates a Private club in order to get the initial set up done in private. Once setup is complete, they navigate to the club settings to find they cannot change visibility. They then message staff to help, and an admin has to go into the ACP to change visibility.

I am trying to figure out if new members are put into the Members group, and whether I can change the registration process so that new members go into the 'New Members' group I created. I suspect the 'Members' group is hard-coded for new members to land in when registering, but cannot confirm this through the documentation. Is this the case? Due to spammers, I am manually approving new members. I want to change this back to automatic, but for new members I want to approve 2 posts before they become unmoderated.

Hi mates, as it seems the "About me" section of a member profile shows all the added text and links, i.e. Spam, even after marked as spammer. All posts and thread are hidden automagically but not the profile spam stuffing. So I guess our beloved spammers managed to bypass our spam measures... Any ideas? Thanks, Thomas
