We're using a page (via IPS Pages app) as our new front page for our website. The site includes an IPS area and a database that has been coded by another developer. However, the search bar on the IPS page that we're using as a front page is defaulting to "Pages". I need it to default to "Everywhere". How do I change that setting, please?

Hi! Just a couple quick questions. We have a database of articles created that is running on a Page through the Pages App. Works great. But after having posted eight articles there, we've decided that we would like to activate the post topic in forum option as well. I went into the AdminCP to edit the database, toggled that option on in the Database settings, selected the Forum to post them in and saved. Realized that I had the "Delete Record with topic is deleted" option toggled on and didn't want that, so I toggled that off and hit save again. Why are some topic titles bold and others normal in the Notifications list (mysite.com/notifications/)? I originally thought bold titles were the ones I had not read, but I see many unread topic titles that are not bold? In fact they are not bold in the Notifications list but they are bold in the forum's topic list.

Hi, could you tell me if current ips version come with guest comment feature available? What I want to do is guest don't need to be member to leave a post. When the guest want to comment, the first field should be Name field, so guest type a name to send the comment. Moderator approve to show the comment.

Is there a way to turn on auto follow topics as the default, rather than it being off? Mine is on here - but currently on the phone, so can't remember if it is a setting for the user or if it is defaulted that way. I can't find anything via a Google search unfortunately.

Can anyone advise how users can post gifs or movies. For example if I try to post https://i.imgur.com/6PA1B1b.mp4 using the Other Media > insert image from UL option, the dialog goes red, but without helper text I am unsure what the problem is. Additionally the thread has pages of gifs and movie clips posted for many years, that are still visible, but now it seems it is not possible to post these? Hey guys, Quick question. So far as I know, to warn a user, you have to go into their profile and click the "Warn User" button, this then brings up the window where you can select the warning and enter in text relating to the warning etc, or edit the text already associated to the warning. However, is there any built in functionality in IPS where a Warn button is on the users posts/postbit so that when it is clicked, the offending content is auto quoted into the warning message ? I just find this makes life easier for moderators and also ensures each warning has the correct amount of context so the offending users is 100% clear on why they were warned for. This…

As I believe we can upload videos in galleries. is there anyway we can use the embed option in galleries. As in post its really best to embed video links rather then upload. For size and length of videos. Id like to make 2 Galleries. One "Showcase Photos" and one "Showcase Videos" Any thoughts on achiving this?

Preventing pages in posts How did this happen This is a header Testing Invision community, A member did this on my forum today. I cannot replicate it except copying and pasting, and I would like to prevent them from doing it in the future. Reading this post will be evident on what happened. We have not been able to upgrade our forum for a long time due to lack of time. We currently have this option and have renewed the license. However, it is not possible for us to upgrade directly to the latest version because the latest version only supports PHP 8. I don't know where to start now. Is there an IPB version available that supports PHP 7.4 and PHP 8, so that we can upgrade to the latest version?

Another forum I have with invision replace the ":)" with however the new one replaces it with this emoji: 🙂 Personally I do not like this new emoji as it looks like a fake/no smile emoji. When using IPS on a mobile, a "Home" button appears on the far left. This is clicking to the default IPS area, but we don't use that as the home page. I've got the logo clicking to the correct link, but I need to be able to tell that home button to click to a certain link. How do I do that, please?

Since marketplace closure, there is no way to download stuff anymore, if the author has disappeared from the community. Is there a way to retrieve an app and plugin I have already installed in my community? I wanted to make a clean install for testing, however, I don't have XML files anymore.
