  1. It may be better suited for you to commission a third party developer to develop this for you then. We, unfortunately, have limited resources and time so try to focus our efforts where they can do our clients the most good.
  2. Looks like you may have a version 4 file present: /applications/forums/widgets/hotTopics.php
  3. Not quite sure what you mean. It should work as it does not where if you have pages set as the default application, you would then set your page in Pages as a default that you want to show.
  4. Hoping I look the same as then
  5. Believe there is confusion here between applications and packages. Applications are like Forums, Blogs, Gallery, Pages, Commerce, Downloads, etc... Your license comes with all applications with the Classic self-hosted, however, it does not come with all package benefits. Packages are like Classic (self-hosted), Beginner, Creator, Creator Plus, etc... Packages on our Cloud come with select benefits which can be read on the pricing page. Even Cloud clients do not get the benefits of all packages. As mentioned in this topic a few times, this isn't a self-hosted vs cloud thing. Would encourage you to read up on our Cloud. It is much more than a server 😉 .
  6. You would need to keep your uploads folder and/or any other attachment folders you have.
  7. Would ensure that all files are overwritten on their v4 counterparts.
  8. Keep in mind there is limited support for Betas so if you are unsure how to obtain server error logs and post those for analysis, I would recommend not running the beta.
  9. People still use Opera? 😄 I kid... Worth mentioning two things here: We only support the native browser of the device. In the case of iPhone, this is Safari. Otherwise, there are hundreds of browsers out there. iPhone X is 7+ years old now. You may start to have more and more issues browsing modern websites.
  10. It's worth stating we have this publicized on our pricing page or blogs, very few features are still being decided on or not included in the core software. I would not blow this out of proportion here as that will confuse people. Those features being decided on will be publicized what package before version 5 is released. Just like car features 😉
  11. If you're seeing performance impacts, you should explore your hosting and your connection to the vendors. The performance impact should be negligible. We run tests outside of our own AWS environment and we also are exploring other vendors where the cache reset on the theme files in v4 aren't an issue. Keep in mind, with v5, this won't be an issue because there are theme changes between v4 and v5 that rebuilds won't happen so frequently.
  12. Our Cloud stores everything in S3 and so do countless self-hosted users. You also are not forced to stored everything in S3 if you don't want too though.
  13. Car manufacturers have long abandoned the ala carte individual option featuring 😉 . Like us, they only offer trim-levels and limited packages to those individual trim levels. Buying my last car, I wanted a V6 engine with blue paint and it was only available on the highest 2 packages of the SUV I wanted. Very similar here, if you want the new real-time features, you have to be on our Cloud and certain packages. Like us, the car manufacturer is very likely a business and technical decision to offer these at the level they do. It may only make sense to offer the Blue at that level because it may cost them extra to do so as that paint may take extra cure time, require special materials, etc... The V6 may require different equipment, etc... as well. Ultimately, simply because something seems surface-level easy to offer at any package, doesn't mean it makes sense from a business or technological standpoint. This goes back to the car analogy. Often trim levels or packages don't have the option of being added onto. That is very much a business and technology decision in of itself. Confused by the statement. Matt stated that it will be in version 5. However, not what package as that is still being determined.
  14. Anything that isn't pointed to the uploads folder needs to get consolidated there.
  15. Features will be put into plans accordingly to what the plan is, the cost, the technology feasibility/cost, etc...Think of it like a car, you're not going to purchase a base trim economy sedan and expect a luxury/tech rich experience 🙂 . The same is true with any business.
  16. The easy solution is just to hide it via CSS. I'll let the devs answer if there is a better way.
  17. No need to repost Feedback topics here. They are read in the Feedback forum even if we do not reply 😉 .
  18. As mentioned, please ensure all files are version 5 equivalents. Seems like those are out of date
  19. You will want to ensure that you are replacing every file with the version 5 equivalent. 1784 of that file for me is a comment so shouldn't be rendering an error.
  20. It has been some time since we announced this and it is not going to be reconsidered, I'm afraid. Simply because your users may not know their email address doesn't mean you shouldn't move into a more secure environment. It is kind of like stating that you lost your house key so you can't change the locks 🙂 . There have been many suggestions for getting your members updating their email address and getting used to this way of life now before it is fully removed in version 5. Making announcements and changes now that ease your members into this will improve the success come version 5. Enable display name and email address login now, set a date in the future that you will remove display name logins, and make plenty of announcements about it so your members are aware and know how to check their email address on file for their account. Many who have gone through this process have expected to be flooded with contact requests but really only get a handful or less so getting in front of this is the best plan 🙂 .
  21. Hard to say without knowing your site and usage. Is this live? Lots of users?
  22. You will want to check if your server is passing any cache headers for browser caching. Reports from others have not come in just yet regarding this so this is worth double checking.
