Bulk Email Scheduling
by Guest jim7567g- 1 reply

I would like to see a feature in the task manager that allows the option to have the bulk email system send a message at specified intervals automatically. For instance I would like the system to send a welcome message to all new members each day. Currently I would have to run this manually. Is the feature possible? Thanks,

Favorites, Custom forum layout suggestion
by Guest Sire- 1 reply
- 3.9k views
ust something of a suggestion for future releases and consideration. We have collapsible categories now. It made me think about members being interested in only a handful of forums. It would be amazing if they could create their own index page of favorites, and reorder them. A custom index. So for example my own custom index page might be: INVISION BOARD SOFTWARE - / Company Product and Services Feedback - / IPS Customer Chat - / IPS Customers' Hints and Tips - / IPS Customer Feedback So just those 4 forums would show up for me. With an option to VIEW ALL perhaps.

skin + usergroups
by Guest kitkatyummy80- 4 replies
- 4.2k views
i've a suggestion. it'd be nice if there's an option to allow certain usergroups to select skins. 'cause whenever i want to test a new skin, i have to go back to the gen conf to turn on the option "allow members to select skins" ... or make that new skin default for all members. this and download links/attachment files viewable by only certain usergroups as well.

Member Team Icon
by Guest krocheck- 4 replies
- 5.5k views
Something I have wanted to do was define a different group icon for each of my staff members, as most have tasks other then admin or mod. We have news, information, media, and interation staff as well. Rather than having to make a new group for the staff for each group icon I want, I would rather like to go into that staff member's profile in ACP and define a group icon for the individual staffer. Subsequently, I could make one group called 'Staff' (with the exception of Admins) so it would be easier for members to find the staffer they are looking for. Confused? Keith

if someone wants to see the board on a pda, can it be sized down automatically based on the OS looking at it. (Google does this automatically)

Block level links
by Guest TheNinthPlayer- 0 replies
- 3.7k views
At the bottom and top of thread listings in the forums there are numbered boxes indicating the number of pages worth of threads or post. This boxes have links in them but the links dont expand to the entire box. I suggest that IPB use the CSS attribute DISPLAY set to BLOCK. Example; box.a { display: block; } This will make the entire box a link meaning a person can click anywhere on the box instead of focusing on a small number.

I guess reading forums via e-mail (instant or digest) will be good for people aren't going to the forum that often can also read the contents of the topic and replys.

SQL Connection Error Redirect
by Guest notacake- 0 replies
- 3.7k views
I'm pretty sure there's not an option for this at the moment (please tell me if I'm wrong) but could there be an option for redirecting users to an error page if the forum cannot connect to the SQL database instead of coming up with the SQL error. All it would take is checking for mysql_connect() returning 0 then redirecting to somewhere. How could I do this myself? (I'm not that experienced with PHP)

HTML as default
by Guest Keven Fox- 6 replies
- 5.1k views
I've asked how to make it default before, but got no response. So I'm thinking it's not an option at this point. So I'd like to suggest it be an option. For those who don't know what I mean, you can allow certain groups to post HTML, and when they have that choice under a post they create they will see 3 options: HTML Off HTML ON - Raw Linebreak Mode HTML On - Auto Linebreak Mode

View New Posts
by Guest Lomag- 8 replies
- 4.7k views
When using "View New Posts" it does not display the little bracket if you've replied to a particular post there. Viewing the forums index shows those brackets. It would be very good to have those brackets shown when using View New Ports or any of the search functions in general.

Could we see a feature where you can select more then one file when you attach to a post? Some of mine have like 10 pictures and it's a pain going through each one. Or would this be impossible to do?

"Add Birthday" option to calendar
by Guest Xandur- 4 replies
- 4.6k views
I have a simple family site that my entire family uses. Unfortunately, my parents use the same login "Mom.Dad". Because of that, they cannot add both their birthdays and have them work properly in the calendar (ie, automatically figuring out age). I'd like to see a way to integrate an "add birthday" option inside the "add event" screen that would allow an admin to add birthdays. Also, this feature would be helpful as I have 3 and 4 year old nephews who are to young to have their own login (therefore cannot use the birthday option in the profile) that I'd like to add to the calendar so peeps know when to get them cards. Adding an "add birthday" option would allow pee…

Another option for new users registering
by Guest Vatoloco- 5 replies
- 6.9k views
I would like to see an option for registration where you can use "Pre-email Validation" Basically what it would do is when a user clicks to register on your forums it just gives them a message to send an e-mail to newuser@yoursite.com and then when they send the e-mail Invision Board automatically responds with a link that lets them actually create the account.

Login via username -or- email
by Guest Wolfie- 5 replies
Admin selectable option [] Username [] Email [] Either [] Both First two are already available.. Updating the login via email though, if there is more than one account with the same email address, which ever the email & password combination match up is the account it would use. If more than one matches both, then a screen where the member could select which user name to use. "Either" would be where the member could use either their username -or- their email (by their choice), which would be useful if they are on multiple IPB forums but using a different name on each. "Both" would be where both the user name AND email are required for logging in, which co…

the skinning section in css advanced mode is hard because I always copy the whole stylesheets and past them in editor so I can search for the id and classes I need, so wouldn't it be possible to have in the admin cp a search function? almost like you got for editing the html templates

Upgraded "importing" features
by Guest Wolfie- 0 replies
- 3.7k views
Put simply (although may be more difficult to actually make).. Importing (and heck, exporting?) skins/images/emoticons from/to another site.. For importing emoticons, can either import an XML/archived file from another site, or "upload" a new emoticon by giving the url to it (and optionally giving it a name during the upload) so that it grabs the emoticon from a website instead of from your computer. Also a button to do a raw paste of files/urls to upload.. D:\emoticons\file1.gif file2.gif file3.gif D:\emots2\file4.gif file5.gif http://www.somesite.com/emoticons/file6.gif file7.gif::Once a directory is given, all files after that are read from the same locati…

Multi-Moderation Settings for the Calendar
by Guest Lord_Gradient- 0 replies
- 3.7k views
The ability to set up topic multi-moderations which are usable only on the calendar. For example, you could create an automated message and then apply it whenever you need to (i.e. a work-schedule one that lists your hours; useful if the days you work change often). There are many more uses to this. Just a thought ^_~

Board Easier To Set Up`
by Guest ajforum- 8 replies

I have found that when I try and set up the forum on a server, it is very complicated. I try and import a SQL database but I keep getting permission errors. Is it just me, or is there a problem here that needs fixing?

new subforums inherits parents settings

At this moment, each time I make a subforum, i have to set up the permissionmasks, moderators, settings, etc for it. Wouldn't it be more logical if it automaticly inherits it's parent's settings?
