Whelp... I just tried to do an edit to a post and it did not shift. I dunno, it was doing it yesterday immediately after upgrading. All's well, I guess. Sorry for the false alarm.

I just tried to run the patch in Support and got this.

Weirdly I've just had a user mention that the menu option on the bottom right is missing on their iPad!

it was or was very small icons you could hardly see but fine now.

Just updated. Thought I’d make you aware, mid installation a poorly timed Cloudflare oi are you human, tick this box for us page appeared.

Installation went through fine after, on a stripped down layout, which felt a lot slower than usual once it realised I’m not one of those Elon Musk robots.

Ok, it hasn’t gone through as smooth as I thought. After completing the update, the homepage still shows the update available message.

Admin panel under applications says I’m on 5.0.14 with an update available. I go to update again and the installer page says I have no applications to update.

Cleared cache and it still says update available under the Get Support page.

  1. Turning on Quick Translating in Translation Tools would cause blank page;

  2. 'Comments' in Gallery Statistics has no localized string.

I'm unable to reproduce this. Quick translation is working as expected for me. A white page can mean a server-side issue is occurring. You should check your server logs.

Which statistics are you referring to? If it's the front-end block/widget, the key you're looking for is stats_total_comments_v

Sadly our all round knowledge isn't great but we can get by, the original owner changed jobs so we took it on

One question I am puzzled about, I have read about V5 being released for well over a year now, but my forum is still on version 4.7.23.

Should "we" be doing something to push through the upgrade to V5, or is it a case of being in a queue for it to be rolled out?

Additionally, do we "have to" upgrade to V5, my concern is we may have to relearn things and potentially our current add ons may be lost

Apologies if this is something very obvious but I am a bit lost as to what to do

There is no immediate action required. If you'd like to remain on v4, you can. Although at some point upgrading will be required since V4 will no longer be supported, again - at some point.

What you can do is check which applications you're running and if they've been converted/made available to V5. You can find most v5 applications here: https://invision-market.com/

If they aren't, then you can reach out to the developer if there's plans to make them available to v5 - Or find a new developer if they aren't around anymore. Worst case scenario, cut your loss and upgrade.

V5 is a major improvement from V4, so worth considering doing the upgrade sooner rather than later. The community here is always willing to help with any questions or issues you may have. 🙂

As a Cloud customer, you can go to Client Area -> Manage Purchases -> click your package -> scroll down to "Request version 5 upgrade" and the system will apply the files for you. Then you will want to go to /admin/upgrade.

It was not a completed white page, there is a '2026' string on the top left corner after turn on the "Quick Translation".

I might find the problem. I add a current year scripts copyright line.
