Hi, it would be nice if Admins in the Manage User Registration/Email Change Queues Area could click on a members name to see her/his profil. And New registration email validation as personal message not only as mail. Regards...

Tasks
by Guest Wolfie- 0 replies
- 1.8k views
Ok it's cool to have a task manager that runs internally and all, and even that there are some predesigned tasks, however perhaps the ability to have the ability to integrate task modules. Here's what I mean. Let's say that there is a single module for all of the default IPB tasks. When setting up a scheduled even, if the module being used has been designed to be integrated, then a setup menu would be shown where the different tasks (that it supports) can be turned on/off, as well as any additional settings or options for each task it supports. This would be useful for cutting down on clutter and also for allowing admins that have slow boards to set up for more tasks…

More IPB Portal features
by Guest -Strider-- 13 replies

I think IPB Portal should be easily customizable. I think you should be able to make custom blocks, and i think there should also be IPGallery and ITSL blocks available that show a random image, and the top 5 sites. Also, when hiding all skins, the select skin block still shows up, with a blank drop down box

Points System
by Guest Ruy- 11 replies
- 5.9k views
Hi, if you know the phpBB system, you may also know that it has a MOD that will allow members to get points by posting messages, and also that admins can give them to users. Isn't this a nice option to put on IPB?

[REQ] Keeping an eye on protected forums
by Guest Cheule- 3 replies
- 2.2k views
Have you ever laboured hard on your board, setting up security, permissions and such. Of course you have. But what about a pesky member who gives out a forum password to others? Would it be possible to add a list of people who have successfully accessed a particular forum, viewable by Admins? This way I could compare who I have given the password to against a list of people who have actually logged into that particular forum. What does everyone think? Essential or bloat? >_<

Creative Commons
by Guest inventaur- 21 replies

Great new feature needed! My forum is designed to become an Intellectual Property discussion house and an open, democratic authoring site for ideas and futurology. To this end, we want to allow posters to get propper attribution for their work, and this will mean using Creative Commons. The goal is to use CC's pop-up html which they say can be embedded in a web site. As forums are special, I want to be able to put the pop up in the post edit page tool bar - this then launches a window that takes you through the liscence process. A graphic is left at the foot of the work in the posting itself. Creative Commons code explanation This would be an enormous feature for m…

Secure/HTTPS Boards
by Guest G_B- 4 replies
- 2.7k views
The patch: 1) disables the nav bar on board index page (wasted too much space to fit with our logo and custom menu) 2) removes some restrictions imposed by ipb that are not needed to secure the GB flavor of PHP 3) shows how to require SSL/TLS/HTTPS for a particular board By posting this patch, I'm really hoping to give a gentle push for Matt & team to add a nice ACP integration with a per-board/forum/category checkbox for requiring HTTPS in order for users to access the board/forum/whatever. BTW, I've used several PHP-based forums, but none come close to the quality of code/design in 2p0p0PF4. Great job guys! 2p0p0PF4.patch.txt

Easier Member controls
by Guest frazzled- 3 replies
- 2.6k views
I've suggested this before, but I'll try again. We find several Admin CP control panel features cumbersome when trying to validate new registrations. 1. Could there not be CLICKABLE LINKS in the validation queue? Now you get an email saying new poster devildog has registered. You need to view the profile. You have to type the name in to search for the member. You can get the informatino, but it's like walking out the front door and around the block to get to the back yard. It would be so much easier if you could just walk through the house. 2. Have a clickable member list easily accessible from the front page of the control panel -- links to "last 50 register…

[Req] Adding a new user via AdminCP
by Guest Paul B- 1 reply

When you add a new member via the AdminCP, there is no option to email the member informing them they have been added to your forums. It would be nice to see this feature. As it would save time from manual processing the email.

Bot logs
by Guest Dlf- 5 replies

How about for the bot log(s) it tells you how mant total hits you have? I have had over 4 bots vist my Technologyforum. 2 have been MSN, both with over 2000 hits. The google bot over 1000 (I think) and 2 others with less then 10. Total that's more then 8k (thousands) but what if I got more bots and more hits. I wouldn't want to total all those hits together right?

Joining a Groups... 1 2
by Guest SLicK CaPoNe- 26 replies
- 9.6k views
I'm sure everyone is familiar with the "groups" feature, but not sure if the latest version uses it (excuse my ignorance). I remember phpBB had a feature, where users could go and subscribe to a group (even multiple groups), and access certain pages just for being a member of that group, instead of typing the password EACH time, and making bunch of different 'groups' to give different people different access; all that is time consuming. I really loved that feature about phpBB. EACH user was unique. I hate the idea of having users type in passwords, and sometimes that could head in the wrong direction as well. People could give out passwords, and grant access to peopl…

A PM 'Multi Mod'
by Guest Karl- 2 replies
- 2.7k views
I would personally love an option to have "Multi-Mods" for PM's to quickly respond to users. For example if someone PM'd me regarding a staff position i could click the multi mod to reply with the form and info etc.. in PM. Would make things a lot easier for me for a lot of situations. Any of you lot agree ?

Forum listbox in new topic screen
by Guest ..zapper- 1 reply
- 2.5k views
I'd really like to see the possibility for a listbox in the new topic screen where users can select the forum where they want to post the topic. If forumnumber is unknown or Actives forum, it should say 'select a forum' and if no forum is selected it should raise an error. This would really help us cause users many times don't look were they are starting a topic, not cause they are blind, but cause they are just to lazy to browse to the correct forum before the make their topic.

New 'devolved' admin to members
by Guest inventaur- 1 reply
- 2.5k views
I'd like to see postings emerge where the topic starter can re-arrange replies and put them together in another posting, so that more dynamic replies can be assembled in the case of on-line web authoring. This could be arranged through a request to transfer the topic or copy it by the starter. This folder would have its own features allowing polls and its own menu. Polls that are more dynamic - longer poll questions, pop up explnations, and other polls methods for getting combinations of data, which is also databased to members and groups. I see a big future for dynamic polls on the web. Pay per memory use feature automatically set up, so posters can pre-buy chunks of…

Start a topic automatically
by Guest datoufish- 3 replies
- 2.4k views
Hi, I wanna to know how to do this in IPB. Say, I have many articles, users can give reviews to each article. By clicking a link, say "Users reviews", a IPB topic is started automatically. The title of the topic could be "Review to 'Title of the article'". Anonymous can post in the forum so users are not required to register to post reviews. Duplicated entries are not allowed. So you will not see two entries with the same title, say, Review to Google Hacks. Any API or example to implement this function? :-"

Pay-per-view feature
by Guest datoufish- 1 reply
Hello, I wanna if IPB could integrate this feature. Feature request: Pay-per-read (similar but different from subscription) Used in: Selected topics and/or selected forums Desc: Require users to pay to read a topic. After payment goes through, the user can login with his ID, PWD and read the topic for selected duration of time, one day, one week or forever, etc.

Members submitting moderated posts
by Guest K. T. Walrus- 19 replies
- 5.4k views
(I posted this in another forum, but just realized it should go here so I'm posting it again here). The current IPB behavior after a member makes a post to a moderated forum is really starting to annoy me. Right now, all you get, from the member's point of view, is the Thanks page that quickly is replaced and the post is no longer visible to the member until it is approved. What should happen is that queued posts submitted a member are visible to that member even if it has yet to be moderated. I suggest a new RenderRow template or a parameter to the existing template that marks (e.g., a different row color) the queued post so it is clear to the member that the post …

IPB Portal Hidden From Guests
by Guest Xandur- 16 replies
- 5.4k views
I have a simple family website and my members value their privacy above all else. Under security options, I have "Force guests to log in before allowing access to the board?" set to YES. Unfortunately, any Joe Schmoe can see the IPB portal page without logging in. Please make an option that makes the IPB Portal also force guests to log in before allowing access. Thanks!
