  1. Hi @Adriano Faria Is there a way to sort or filter the topics according the tags used? I ask in case I ever wish to divide-up the topics into two or more forums. Thanks.
  2. Apart from a little CSS to change some colours, it is the default theme.
  3. We migrated to IPS a little over a week ago. The member having to login twice goes back to when we first migrated. The problem for the developer, on Monday, when he first tried to login to look at something for us. My login problems today are new, but so is my use of Edge for the website. There were no changes immediately before this problem with Edge. But as I say, since I was not using Edge before, I cannot pinpoint to a change.
  4. Follow-up I have managed to login (with Edge), but when I logout again, it is hit or miss signing in again. I can receive either of the two messages. Sometimes, attempting to sign in again (from the 'Oops' error page) is successful. Or if I receive the CSRF message, I notice that I am apparently signed in (but I can view is the error message), I 'logout' and can then successfully sign in using the other login page: https://xxxxx.xx/login/?_fromLogout=1 This somewhat mirrors the recent experiences of the developer who handled our migration to IPS.* And a technically-minded member who informs me that he always has to login twice. None of use have been able to work the cause of these login problems. * He could login using only the www subdomain (he could not login using the root). Edit: You must have missed my comment: I did disable all plugins - it made no difference. I should add, Chrome and Firefox work fine for me (but not Edge). The member who experienced problems logging in (having to 'login twice'), only experiences problems with Firefox.
  5. Error: The CSRF protection key did not match. This may indicate a plugin or theme is out of date. Please contact technical support for more information. I can login using Firefox, but when I attempt to login with Edge, I receive the error above. I can continue to login and out (and back in again) using Firefox. I attempted to login using a private window with Edge, and I receive the following error message: Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again. So, took the site offline, I cleared system caches, and disabled all addons. I then tried logging using the same admin account, with a new private window (Edge), and received the same 'Oops' error message. Any suggestions or idea of what's happening? Thanks.
  6. If you are suggesting that I quote the whole post twice, or quote individual sections of the original, they are two things I am trying to avoid. Like I said, it works as expected with Edge. So I'll use that instead. But thank you for trying to help me. Appreciated.
  7. Yep. Works with Edge. It is a Firefox bug. I've tried numerous times with FF, even holding down all manner of extra keys. Nothing. It just adds returns to the quote (or posts it, if I am holding down the Ctrl key). Thank you for the detailed reply and video - much appreciated! I do place my cursor at the end of the paragraph where I wish to create a break - it does not work when using FIREFOX. But I've found that it works perfectly well using Edge. I guess I'll switch.
  8. It does not work (Firefox, Windows). I'll try a different browser.
  9. I've tried that several times (desktop). All it does is add returns within the quote. I'll try again. Thanks. I don't follow. If I quote the whole post, is there away to then split up the quote so that I can add inline comments? IF the quoted post is long, it less than convenient to determine exactly where I wish to split up the quote, and the copy each section to my reply.
  10. If there is way to split up a quote to respond to specific points, I have failed to discover it. So, is there a way to split up a quote block? Of course, I can quote a series of extracts, but that's less than convenient when the quote is long and I wish to make a lot of inline comments. Is there a trick I am missing with the editor? Thanks.
  11. Hi Marc, I resolved the problem with a test account. For one, I am used to a global setting for disabling animated avatars. And although I had this set up correctly for Primary and post-count groups, I had not set the restriction for Secondary groups. Those Secondary groups are not even in use now, but many members are still assigned to them since migration a few days ago. Sorry to have wasted your time.
  12. 'Tis as I assumed. But thank you for the confirmation.
  13. Hi Marc, I'll go and have a look for myself. Team members have reported new animated avatars, and that was the list of allowed of file types. I did check the settings, and animated avatars were disallowed. But I must admit, I've not checked it out further than this. I assumed I was missing something. I guess I'll create a test account.
  14. It is going to take 4 days or more for membership pruning to complete. I don't suppose there is a way to speed up batch processing?
  15. I've disabled animated avatars, but members can still add: gif, jpeg, jpe, jpg, png, webp And we are getting animated images. Is it possible to disallow gif and webp uploads for avatars?
  16. Oh, very good, @Adriano Faria Just what I was looking for! 🙂
  17. Hi. We have just moved to IPS. We had one forum where members could reply only to the thread they started. It operates as open diary or sorts. Yes, we could restrict the forum so that only the topic start and moderators could read it, but we wish for all members to have access to the threads on a read-only basis. Is this possible in the core and I a missing it? Or, perhaps there is an addon I cannot find. Thanks.
  18. Thanks, Jim. Oh. I just emailed about the domain name. 🙂
  19. Hi Jim, But that what I want (I think). We had a system where members were forced to introduce themselves to a 'forum' they were not programmed to recognise. Once the their first post was approved, they could then post freely. But, (potential) spammers were never in a specific group - they were just zero-post count members. So, my intention is to delete all zero-count accounts created more than six months ago. Because of the way forum operated, members (like guests) had a very restricted view of the forum. So, any genuine zero-post accounts caught up in the deletion have lost nothing (no posts, no PMs, no search privileges, and no account with provided anything better the guest view). So, I just need to know if my parameters are correct. I am 99.9% sure they are. But the consequences for getting it wrong is large I thought it best to check. 🙂 Further, how many accounts can safely delete in one go? The numbers are huge!
  20. Hi @Miss_B Thanks for the heads-up. But as we are using cloud, unless I am mistaken, there is no way for me to take a backup. I understand I can request one, but that's probably slow. And I can't do that every time I make a change.
  21. Thank you @Adriano Faria That gets me part of the way there. And maybe close enough. Of course, it does nothing for disentanglement if I ever wish to reverse merging the three forums, but I can't have everything.
  22. Hi Jim. 'All' section? Sorry, I don't follow. Where?
  23. Thank you @SeNioR- But I think I'll wait for a nod from one of the IPS team. I am a bit hesitant about deleting thousands of accounts. It seems straightforward enough, but me being new to this system, I just wish to be 100% certain.
  24. I am combining three forums into one. But I wonder if there is a away for me to for me to add a forum-specific prefix onto each each thread in each forum before I merge them? The three forums can operate quite well as one, but it would be useful to be able separate out the three types too. And, on a related matter - if the space should become too busy for all three areas of discussion - is it possible to separate out threads of a forum via a prefix for moving out the content to another forum? Any suggestions?
