  1. Hi @Randy Calvert I am not sure I follow. I refer to data transfer occurring as part of servicing accounts hosted in the EU. It seems that such serving (if any PII information is access/transferred), this would contravene GDPR (re: Schrems II). I am just trying to clarify the situation. https://www.njordlaw.com/privacy-shield-scheme-declared-invalid ('Consequences' section, towards the bottom of the page). But maybe I've misunderstood the point, or it is a poor legal opinion. 'Here'? Hopefully, my prior comment has clarified what I mean. Thanks.
  2. Hi. What I am trying to clarify is does Invision use an EU service centre for EU hosted communities? Or, does Invision service the EU-hosted communities from abroad (the US, presumably)? My inquiry relates to GDPR compliance. Thanks.
  3. Hi, Does IPS use 'limited cloud' EU-based service centre for EU hosted communities? Or does IPS use an outside support centre to access the EU-based hosting? Thanks.
  4. Hi Marc, Thanks for the input. Yes, content can be copied, screen shots taken, but that takes more effort and there is always a level of plausible deniability (that the content was faked). That's not case if others can view the original content for themselves. Further, for the person who nefariously invites in someone to the conversation they should not, they can plausibility claim no nefarious intention. Yes, I can limit conversations to just two members, but that's a rather restrictive thing to do. I do not believe I have come across another messaging system which behaves this way. Or maybe I don't get out enough. Does anyone know of an add-on or code to change this behaviour? I suppose the simplest thing to do would be to disable the ability to add in others to an existing conversation.
  5. Hmm. The solution seems a bit limiting. I am more used to SMF - but its system has its own problems. But I also use XenForo - I see with their system, the OP can prevent others from inviting additional participants; this would see sensible behavior. Else, what was once a private conversation could become a full-blown spectacle because of one nefarious actor. Ours is probably a more sensitive topic than most for a support forums, but I think the potential issue here is universal. I will have to do as you suggest and limit it to two participants if I go ahead with IPS. Thanks.
  6. Thank you for the reply, Charles. I am just exploring the various systems right now. I've already set up a forum in the way you suggested. But a full-blown ticket system would suit our purposes - it is disappointing that you are deprecating it (I have just read the announcement about it). PMs are not a good way to handle complaints and the like. And using a forum is far from ideal too. And we will not be using third-party system (for what will be low usage). I suppose the forum option it will have to be. Thanks anyway.
  7. I see that subsequently invited members gain access to previous comments within the conversation. And, unless I am mistaken, there is no way to prevent anyone who is part of the conversation from inviting others to join in. Am I missing something here? I'd hope there is way to prevent this behavior. Thanks.
  8. 1. Is the Support Requests system suitable (or readily adaptable) to use as a ticket system for members on a non-eCommerce site? 2. When I attempt to set which staff can view complaints, there is only the option to select Admins. I cannot locate any way to add other groups. Thanks.
  9. Please drop the previous post (awaiting approval). I worked it out for myself.
  10. Apologies - I do not appear to have the necessary permissions to start a thread. I am testing out Invision and am wondering how do I create nested lists like in the above? I would have thought it would be simple enough, but nothing I try works. Thanks.
