I agree. The whole registration process is not easy. Especially if you have a COPPA set up.

I got this page as well yesterday while working in the ACP. I was changing a setting across all user groups. After about 30 seconds the site would return again but it happened like, 4 times within a 5 minute window. I figured it happened because I was moving along too fast(?), though that shouldn't be an issue. Just got that impression.

Slightly off-topic and apologies for using your post here but... A few days ago, spammers found one of my sites and started up their shenanigans. As a way to mitigate the attack, I switched to, 'Administrator validation' for new registrations. This had a quirky side effect of not allowing moderators to see any new reported posts. Had me stumped as to what I may have done that made this happen. I tried switching it back to, 'Email validation', but that didn't make the reported posts show again. I became frustrated and left it alone for the rest of the day. Woke up the next day and what do you know, my moderators could see reported posts again. I had tried clearing the site cache in the ACP the day before but that didn't work so maybe it was another task that had to run to free it up, dunno. Just glad it is working again.

In my experience it happens randomly, so it is not surprising that you were unable to reproduce it.

I have had this same issue for years and it generally only happens on mobile. Always figured it was a a browser issue but I don't know to be honest, because it has persisted through many browser updates.

Sites went down around 11pm EST. The first email I received was at 5:19am EST. So... no communication for 6 hours.

I don't understand why this feature would be removed. It has been there for what seems like forever and is integral to what we do. I have not updated for a few releases and am glad I haven't with this knowledge now under our belt. If this feature doesn't return, not sure what we can/will do, but upgrading is very possibly out of the question now.
