ID rebuild function
by Guest ellawella- 5 replies
- 2.9k views
Why not add in a function which will rebuild all the IDs of members, posts and topics? For instance, if there is one member on a board, they unregister, and a new one signs up, their member ID will be 3, whereas they are really member #2. The same goes for deleted posts and topics. This feature could go under the Maintenance section maybe.

Is it possible to add a add manager to the admin section that would allow banners to be added to the top or bottom of the IPB Wrapper and rotate banners. this could integrate with the subscription manager and work seamlessly. Not sure if this has any intrest to anyone other then me but i figured i would mention it.

massive move on search result
by Guest hulala- 0 replies
- 1.4k views
I wish to have the ability as admin to massive move topics into another forum on search result by multiple section, or selecting all. For example, I want to split a forum into subforums, and also assign related topics in the mother forum into the subforum. I will do a search to bring up all related topics, then I can select on the search result page which topics to move. thanks.

Hello there, I tried skimming through some topics but I couldnt find it so I am asking here. We're thinking about purchasing this product but were wondering about one thing. Do the powerboard come with a download/upload manager or are there plans to incorporate that in? Thank you and my apologies if this has been asked before. ~ Steven

by Guest TWK- 8 replies
- 2.4k views
Hi , When im at msn i sometimes try to explain something to some1 else by using the handwritten option in msn, i think its very handy especially when i speak to some1 that doesnt speak the same language as i do. And lately ive been feeling the need to use this on my board and cos i dont feel like using paint evrytime and then upload the image, this option could become very handy. Plz feel free to react and give ur opinions :)

In 2.0.4, there was a link on the main ACP page to your validating members page, that told you how many were pending. I know it

Suggestion: Auto-Open/Close feature
by Guest Ipstenu- 0 replies
- 1.5k views
From my recent ticket (which was resolved within 3 working days! Thank you!) To me this seems a little counter intuitive. I want to be able to time the opening of a thread and to leave it open indefinitely. To have to fill out both when I only need one is extra work. Also, if I set auto CLOSE, it works fine without the Auto OPEN. I'd like to see the options for open/close to be independent of each other in a future release :) Thanks!

Would it be possible to produce a script wicht checks the chmod setting of all ipb-files? It seems like a lot of problems people have are because of the wrong chmod setting.

[Bug] In Invisionboard v 2.1.1 (and most propably before)
by Guest Vir@s- 2 replies
- 1.7k views
Hi! I'm not 100% sure if this is the correct forum to post or not - but if not feel free to move it :). I got version 2.1.1 and had the problem that uploading of files is not possible if open_basedir restriction is running. I isolated the problem - here is it (taken from class_upload.php, starting with line 363): if ( $this->image_check ) { $img_attributes = @getimagesize( $_FILES[ $this->upload_form_field ]['tmp_name'] ); if ( ! is_array( $img_attributes ) or ! count( $img_attributes ) ) { $this->error_no = 5; return; } else if ( ! $img_attributes[2] ) { $this->error_no = 5; return; } } The problem is, that the getimage…

Anonymous Users
by Guest Rοb- 12 replies
Just a couple of little suggestions which would tidy up the anonymous user setting and have it function correctly. 1. This topic on my forum inspired the first one... If a user is logged in as anonymous, his/her "Last Active" time (seen in profile view) shouldn't keep being updated. It should keep the last active time from when they were online but not anonymous. Otherwise other users know they are around on the boards somewhere which defeats the object. 2. Admins can see anonymous users in the online list, however whilst viewing their profile it shows as "Offline". This should also show whereabouts on the boards that particular user is (for admins). ----------…

Personal forums
by Guest Kman_- 15 replies

How about being able to set up your own forums as a member, similar to Lithium, IGN etc. The members could define their own rules and everything (they are basically an admin of their personal forum). This feature can be turned off of course.

Regarding Multi-Quote
by Guest Jappyx- 5 replies

Hello all! This is just a quick suggestion to suggest that maybe when you select the quotes that you wish to quote, if you press Quick Reply, the quotes are there too. So you can quick reply with quotes rather than useing Add Reply. Comments? -Jappyx

Ignore member option in quotes
by Guest lilo24- 3 replies
Hello, I see that member's messages who is ignored are hidden : it's cool but messages content still appears when an other member quotes the message. Is it possible to hide the message into the quote when the original message reference is used (by for example) ? Here what I mean : 1 - Bad guy's message : -------------------- "You have chosen to ignore this member" ------------------- 2 - Other member's message who quotes Bad guy blablabla Yeah! I hope you will understand my bad english  Thanks

Demote user after x Days / Reputation System
by Guest Motley- 5 replies
- 2.5k views
We all know the stupidity of the vBites, and one of the main things keeping (some) from switching to IPB is the (My God) Reputation System, so IPS should make one for IPB, but More advanced and stylish than vBulletin's Rep Sys. Another useful one is 'Demote user after 00 Days of Inactivity', like if said user hasn't posted or been online in 00 days they get demoted, I know I would put it to good use. (replace 00 with number of days)

[2.1.1 BUG]Missing Code Button in PM screen RTE
by Guest Lemon Head- 0 replies

"Due to popular request, the "[ CODE ]" tag button has made a return to the RTE and STD toolbars." I noticed my v2.1.1 board has a missing Code Button in its PM RTE screen. I checked here and its present! Strange! There is no bug reporting forum yet which is why I'm reporting here. My apologies but didn't know where else to put my 2 last posts.

Hi I think it should be possible to upload a pic directly from your PC into your signature. In ACP there should be a setting to limit the file size.

Inline emoticon call-phrases
by Guest //Nathan- 1 reply
- 1.5k views
This should be an option for the admin to set, but in Invision forums, you must have spaces around the emoticon call phrases. On an outdated forum platform some of my members came from, you didn't need the spaces, and one of them pointed this out to me when I first started. I think it makes more sense to have the spaces, but it's also easy to forget them. Just wondering what other peoples' thoughts on spaces versus inline call-phrases are.

Topic Title & Description on same line?
by Guest Guardian2- 4 replies
- 1.8k views
The description should be wrapped down, not appended to the same line as the topic title. Those using lower screen resolutions suffer because of it. By appending it, the title bar is stretched to accomodate, and that forces a horizontal scroll bar. IMHO
