Allow users to set post order in topics in CP

Allow member the ability to decide which order they see posts in a topic (Ie a to z or z to a). This could be set in their CP so they always see the board how best suits their reading style. (I for one like seeing newest first but I know most people prefer seeing the oldest posts first (Luckily being an admin I get it how I like it but I'd like to give people the option).

Switching specific BB codes on or off

While thinking about what users should be allowed to on my board I came to the conclusion that it would be a good thing if it was possible to disable only certain BB codes while others remain enabled. That would allow for a more fine-tuned list of allowed features on a board. In the ACP there could be an additional page where you can switch every single BB code on or off. Maybe a good approach to do this would be to make every BB code a "custom" BB code that can be deleted or modified in the ACP.

Hi, Due to my experience, users often miss notification about new PMs. Yes, forum shows big red box about, but only once. I think, that it worth to add switch to "show notification until there are any unread message". This should be ON by default for all users, but they could switch it off in profile. The other sujection is about warnings: 1. I'd like to have an option, with allow to any user see warnings of other accounts. In other case they are surprised, why person don't reply (when punished) and start asking questions, spending moderator time. 2. Specifc Permission Masks

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but I don't think is has from what I see. Everyone knows what Permission Masks do, and how you can have secondary masks, etc. Well, could it be possible to have specific users view specific forums, but they remain in one user group? For example, I have a private forum the administrators can view only. However, we would like to have other people participate in what is in it. Problem is, it's a pain to create a new permission mask for this one person, especially since they're already in another user group that is allowed to view another private forum. I am suggesting for IPS to put back the skin count in the ACP. The feature where you can see how many people are using a skin. You can find out this information by using the COUNT query, but my problem is that not all of my admins are root. Thanks. ~Tymiller

WHat if the AdminCP was set up so that the skin's copyright cannot be modified unless the skin was created w/ that AdminCP? Thus, if I import a skin, even if i change all the HTML and CSS, i still cannot touch the copytight because it was not a copy of the origional default skin?

Allow subscription packages to use secondary group

I'm really liking the subscription manager right now, except in one area. The current setup means you have to create Group A for choice A, Group B for choice B and so on. What about allowing secondary group permissions to be "bolted on" to choice a, choice b and so on? Let me illustrate. I was thinking of how nice it would be to add some sounds to the whole IPB. For instance, you could hear a choosable sound when a pm pops up. Or users could select some sort of jingle to be played when their profile is being displayed. . . what do you think? :)

This feature already exists on some other boards. Actually, icons are "hard displayed" and can be named as iconxx.gif which is not really a friendly use if you need to add or edit icons. To add icons, you have to edit the template ... if we had to do the same for emoticons it would have been a nightmare. Is a similar system as emoticons manager could be included in one next IPB upgrade ?

I think that there should be a Secret Santa program for this board. I've looked on the web for one to integrate into my site and haven't had much luck. It would be ideal, though, if the program was integrated in with this board. That way, all of the people who would be included would already be registered on the board. I suggest you make the calendar like a 'module' (such as the subscriptions manager), i.e people can just remove the folder if they dont want the calendar installed on their forum.

A feature that VB boards have is that a member can request "add to group" to gain access to a certain group or forum. While I'm not a fan of vb I do like this option. :thumbsup: I currently have need for something like this on my IPB. :-" Please consider this for inclusion on IPB 2.1. Thanx! :cool:

How about adding the Ability to lock a Individual Members Profile, to prevent them editing things once you edit them. You should be able to lock the whole Profile. Also, you should be able to Choose if your Global Moderators and Moderators can lock/Unlock Profiles. Also, a list of locked profiles with the option to unlock would be helpfull. Also, how about a Super Moderators Permissions Panel. I would rather My Moderators couldnt view IP Addresses. I know you can choose if they can ban or warn, but a few more indepth Permissions would be good. (Such as Annoucements, see my other Feature Suggestions Thread on this..) Finally, i would like to see Moderator Permissions …

Can you pretty, pretty, pretty please make it possible to add members in bulk and use the Post Office bulk email to notify all of them? IPB support notified me that it was not possible. Usually, other places have some ability to upload a simple text file containing the username : email address. One per line. I have six defferent lists which contain 100+ members. I would hate to add them all individually. :( -=awpadmin=-

When using Edit Member's Profile page on submit the page redirects back to user's mini profile page, it should go to the search page as I'm done with that member 99% of the time once i submit the Edit Member's Profile page. Thank you

You can make advanced links to the forum, to preset the sorting and other stuff. But to supercharge this option it would be nice if it was possible to also change the amount of topics displayed on a page, ignoring the settings from the user. something like adding this to the link: That would make it for my board really helpfull :D Hope to see this in one of the next versions, or is there some php code i can change to enable it ?

IPB will import templates as images without error

When doing an images xmlarchive skin import, if you accidentally select the ipb_skin templates file, the import finishes without error and reports "Image set imported!". Because of the new complexity of the 2.0 skin import system, there being 2 seperate files, it seems likely that importing one file as the other will be a common pitfall. Importing images as the templates gives the error "The XMLarchive import doesn't appear to be valid - please check the file and try again" but importing templates as images gives no such error and acts as if everything went perfectly. The lack of an error is a bug because the action was not successfully completed. A smarter import …

Like the title says, we can now make post into a root category, put lack the ability to add rules! Edit: Workaround is to create it as a sub forum, setup your rules then change it too a root forum. But it would be nice to see the ability to do it in the admincp.

Not a showstopping bug at all, but is something that maybe should be fixed. There is an option in the administrator that allows you to configure the numbers that will display in the dropdown menu that is used to configure the number of topics to show in a forum, like "5, 15, 25, 40". Well, if you type "5, 15, 25, 40, 900", for example, and an user selects 900 in his control panel, instead of "board default", then if you later again remove the "900" entry, the user is still browsing the boards loading 900 records.
