    5.0.11 is now available! The final release contains an additional fix for the Table of Contents widget on Pages Records. Please see the release notes for more information.

  • I report a lot (?) of bugs. But I have to admit, being on bug hunt is rather exciting. It is the devil in me. I am a professional developer myself for almost 40 years and hate when people find bugs in

Update went Ok on -testinstall.

Two bugs that where solved, but somehow can't find them in the changelog.

  • Selection Quote on android mobile, seems to be fixed.

  • Search results where going to first comment, instead of user the user who made the comment.

Two very important fixes, that my users where complaining about alot.

Thanks!

There is currently quite a serious issue that prevents re-enabling disabled applications after the update. I have, of course, reported this bug on the technical support forum.

I do not know did you deploy this version already here but moving blocks does not work in Firefox. (Both mobile and desktop)

Spolier button would be better option. Or even better when text is selected inside editor we get overlay spoiler.

Fixed and will be in the next beta.

I read through all the release notes before I realized the provided link takes you to the 5.0.10 notes, lol.

It's in this release.

#5472 Prevent iOS 16.4 and 16.5 from crashing

Holy cow!

Does that mean I can use my iPad 5th gen 2017 128MB with 16.7.11 to use this community?! I realise 16.7 is not 16.4 or 16.5 but it is less than 10 years old! 🤔

Just tried upgrading to 5.0.11 Beta 2 via the AdminCP upgrader and it installed nicely, however CSS background images using uploaded theme resource images are still broken when the CSS is housed in the AdminCP. 😭

Re the CSS background images using theme resources bug, it has actually got worse in 5.0.11 than it was in 5.0.10 and prior.

Previously the URL to the image wouldn't show up in the CSS as per this example:

image.png.118e0b960e000f70ea2032fc53f130

now, you get the uncompiled code from the AdminCP Core CSS/JS in the CSS sheet:

Have you tried removing the if/else statements? Those won't work in JS/CSS as it is compiled once and stored.

What issues have been happening with 16.7?

@Matt In beta 2 it seems that if you add an item to Table of Content, and you see the item added to the widget, then refresh the page, the items are gone from the widget again.

Can we update to betas from the admin panel or we need to download files and upload them

In constants.php if not exsisting create in root from website.

<?php
define( 'USE_DEVELOPMENT_BUILDS', TRUE );

Please note i do only test beta's on my -testinstall, and not on live server.

Sends me a DM with a list of those pages and I’ll take a look for you 🤝

I don’t know what the fix was related to but huge thank you because now I can definitely view topics using my iPad running 16.7 on this IC5 site without them getting stuck in a never ending loop.

I posted about it here for example in this thread that by coincidence wouldn’t load for me in any iPad browser but now this works just fine and I couldn’t find any topics in the last 60 mins that wouldn’t load properly.

The only other issue is video not playing, I’ve not seen this happen on other sites so I don’t know what format the video is loading via the iPad here:

Hi @Matt , if I did that my themes wouldn’t work. We were always able to utilise the PHP IF/Else template tags to make use of the theme settings in v4, this has been treated as a bug until now if it’s no longer the case, please could you provide a supported working alternative for IC5 themes?

The only other way around it (besides complicated JS) is not to be able to use the backend AdminCP for our CSS (if we still want to make use of theme settings to change background images, colors etc) which makes having it pretty pointless for theme designers that would prefer not to put their CSS on the front end.

We've intentionally stopped running JS/CSS through the PHP template parser on each click as it's pretty inefficient and means using slow PHP methods such as eval().

Now, we'd recommend sending variables into the HTML, or using attributes.

For CSS, you can do something like this in a custom template:

<style type="text/css">
:root {
	--my-background-url: url({member.backgroundUrl});
}
</style>

Then in your custom CSS

.ipsHeader__primary {
	background-image: var(--my-background-url);
}

So instead of using PHP logic, you pass in the data to the HTML output, then you reference that natively in JS and CSS. In this example, you pre-process member.backgroundUrl to contain the value based on the data from the database in PHP.
