Improving the Mobile App Experience
I tip my hat to Invision! Well done on these great improvements.

5.0.9 Released
Can non-cloud clients still use Turnstiles? I use CloudFlare, and would like to still use it even if it meant I had to set it up.

A quick development update
I believe they took a copy of the 2.3 data and converted it to Invision using the 2.2 conversion tool. I don't think they went back to the 2.2 version, they just migrated to Invision using that option and tried running the script whilst on 2.3. Can you perform a test? Take a backup, then use that data to migrate back to Invision whilst on XenForo 2.3, but choosing 2.2 in the migration tool.

A quick development update
@Cedric V I noticed a recent support ticket where someone explained that they had used 2.2 to upgrade and the only issue they seemed to have was with the PM system data. It could be worth checking out the support topics. Welcome back to Invision.

A quick development update
@Matt: Please would you consider giving thought to the featured page, in terms of more depth to configuration? Previously, with Our Picks, whoever submitted content, they could go back and edit it. I don't see how that is possible now? I think admins should be able to edit what content is placed, even if a moderator has featured it, or a different team member. I don't want this to sound cheeky, as I am sure it's not the case, but it can appear to be somewhat overlooked. I can fully appreciate that what was a great idea has become impossible due to Zuckerberg and Musk. However, I still think it's a very useful page. The feature itself, it's nice to post out on social media, and I know the footprint on my site has it in the top 5 of the pages visited. If we could edit (please forgive me if we can already), and choose the amount of rows 3x10, 4x12 or whatever. It would look better, as having odd numbers on some resolutions seems a waste of space. There has been a significant reduction in Something v5. Thank you to the team for v5, it's amazing and I am very thankful that I am using it.

5.0.8 Released
I just updated, but I'm only able to access my dev site which runs v5 via my mobile. I know dev sites aren't supported areas, but is anyone else seeing the sidebar show beneath the main widget area? When I view my site in desktop mode, they show below. I'll see if my son will let me check later when I'm back, I'm currently away.

Invision Community 5.0.3 Released
I upgraded my dev install from 5.0.0 to 5.0.3 absolutely fine. :)

Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications
It's scary how easily Microsoft emails are hacked, compared to others. I have never lost access to an account, but my Microsoft email has been targeted by an attempted access, and it's a scary thought that you might lose it. Just as it would be to lose your site, both cases are equally important. I think members are very inclined to reach out the moment that they have lost access to their email, and there are more practical ways of dealing with lost emails. Seek members to come to you; try to verify that they are the person. It's not easy, but you could ask them things that demonstrate that they are the person behind the lost account. Verify where they live, hobbies, etc. I don't think a hacker would seek their victim's web forum accounts; it's more likely credit cards and things linked to finances. Or, taking over social media profiles to scam people.

Invision Community 5: Week 1 Update
I'm hoping to see how v5 continues to improve over the next few months, but the initial release is exciting and I do really like the software. It's good to have played around with the betas to final, it's giving me time to reflect on what's needed for v4. -Test- I can still edit it, whereas the text gives the impression I can't edit before it's approved.

Moving quotes in v5 editor
ClawOfWinterfell replied to ClawOfWinterfell's topic in Invision Community 5: Beta Testing's Beta DiscussionAh, before I could physically place them like in v4. I was aware of the comment before and after, that makes sense.

Moving quotes in v5 editor
In the test site Invision provided, I was able to play around with the position of quotes without having to delete them. This was the same in earlier beta versions I tested on my dev site. On this site and my dev site, I can no longer move quotes. I like how easy it is to be able to post above and below. I am just unsure if being able to reposition something like a quote on a desktop no longer exists or if it is a bug.

Invision Community 5.0.0 Released
It's okay, I mistook the "request upgrade" though I should have read the image. No wonder I couldn't find it. 🤣 When I upgrade, can I escalate issues to a ticket? On my dev site, using Beta 13, I think. I have no end of theme-related issues; some I have resolved by removing traces of plugins from within my database. Most I haven't been able to resolve, despite disabling and uninstalling apps/plugins when upgrading from 4.7. I'm aware that tickets are generally discouraged in favour of posting in the forum, but I am still mindful of the hacker(s) who took my site down. So, when I do finally upgrade, which won't be for a while, I think there will be many problems with which I will need support. I'd much rather avoid anything publicly displayed, especially upgrading to a new major version. If I can't, I'll find some other means. 👍

Invision Community 5.0.0 Released
Would Invision allow us to schedule the upgrade process? I assume currently it would be on a queue basis, for those who click first, and they would need to be ready. If clients are rushing to upgrade and the demand is high, it might be better to have a more thought-out upgrade process, to upgrade when people are ready and when third-party resources are available. Meaning Invision wouldn't be hit with requests, but site owners can work on what's needed within a timeframe better suited for upgrading their sites. I appreciate that an upgrade is on offer, especially when historically clients were promised one free upgrade (something I have never used). I won't be rushing to upgrade, or causing further work for Invision. There are certain resources I would like in place, but my suggestion would only work if the demand creates a vaccum of problems from people rushing and therefore delays the process for everyone.

Can IPS support of Beta team help me with my v4 upgrade to v5 beta issue?
I have a footer error which I can’t resolve, thought to be caused by missing files but I don’t think it’s the case. I have suggested that there could be more going on, but who knows. I will be curious if you have issues due to the upgrade process or if it’s due to left behind traces of plugins. Some of the issues I experienced, I resolved by removing parts of plugins left behind.

Beta 11 is here (already!)
Provided it doesn't change to v5 beta 12, bring it on. I have my toes and fingers crossed for Sunday, so I can win the unofficial sweepstakes. 😇 The competition is on... @Marc. PS. Is it too late to make suggestions? (Not that I would think certain ideas would make it into early versions of v5)

v5 beta 12, Sunday then? 😂

Beta 11 is here (already!)
There were no problems encountered during the upgrade process. 👍

Beta 10 is here!
The default templates for the pages' app are modified; I have no way of reverting them (as previously mentioned). I can delete them, but I wouldn't want that. My question is, if I can't revert the changes, how do I get the default templates back? 🙂
-
Beta 10 is here!
Yes, I have resolved this now. Likewise with the notifications, there was leftover traces of a plugin in my database. How do I get hold of the new templates, if I can't revert them? Thanks, Marc.
-
Beta 10 is here!
Just pointing out also: Due to having modified the default templates in the pages application, my upgrade doesn't come with v5's and there's no way to revert them. I can 'delete' but that reads as if it will remove the template completely, which I assume it does.

Social Profiles
According to Google: As of November 3, 2024, Threads had over 275 million monthly active users. As of November 19, 2024, Bluesky had over 20 million users. No Threads? I'm not arguing about why it isn't listed; I'm just a bit surprised. I try not to show bias to social networks. Some of my community urged me to drop Twitter after it became X and more so when people took up Blue Sky. I don't mind Threads personally, it's not for everyone and I do prefer Blue Sky, but it would be good to see Threads listed here.

Beta 10 is here!
With my current development site on v5, I'm having issues where the pages app won't become my default app. It also redirects me to the "All Activity" page. In previous versions, everything seemed okay except for the errors caused to the footer. The rest were due to third-party template changes. The notifications don't work; they show up, but just keep spinning. I know there is limited support. I'm not in a hurry to upgrade, but I want to see my site in v5, so I can make a healthy decision about upgrading. I particularly want to see how the store functions. Should I wait for future updates? I'm mindful that the last time I tried to back up and re-import my site into my development subdomain, it caused issues with my main site. I also want to help find bugs. I don't think my current environment has bugs, but issues from the upgrade.

How do I update to v5 beta
This happened with me, provided the third-party apps/plugins are disabled prior to upgrading everything is okay with that process. Are you errors related to the header and footer? These seem to be two persistent problems for me. PS. Apologise about suggesting to delete the PayPal gateway process, it worked for me and I haven't had issues with the dev site. Yet I probably shouldn't have included it.

Updated dev site to v5 license key issue
ClawOfWinterfell replied to ClawOfWinterfell's topic in Invision Community 5: Beta Testing's Beta DiscussionSorry, Marc. If there's no option to refresh the licence data. Are there any steps I can take?
