I am btw not seeing the push checkbox under each notification option anymore. Was that removed? Like messanger/Mentions & My Content/Reaction. Before there was a 3th option under it.

They are still available in the notification settings.

For me not anymore? I used to be able to select push for each item i wanted turned on.
Maybe other users also have this issue, and so not getting the push messages on there device?
Was only checking this, because of reading the issues of others had. And wanted to make a printscreen of the items so they could select Push there aswell.

It shows as "Notification Only" or "Notification and push". Are you checking this on a default theme?

Also, do you have notifications enabled in the browser you are viewing from?

Default theme yes but adjusted, but nothing adjusted at settings/notifications.
Notifications are enabled in all the browsers i use.

Normally the "Notification Only" or "Notification and push" items apeared, when enabling push.
Now after the update, i cannot disabled it anymore, only can turn it on and off in browser settings.
So trying to disable/renable it from the Push Notifications area is not possible anymore? So perhaps thats the issue why those items not showing anymore?

So the only thing I noticed (and idk if this is a PWA limitation or not as I dont use them much), but if you accidentally deny the push permissions or if you let it timeout and it auto denies them, then you get stuck with a message that the permissions were denied and there is no way to request them again.

This is kind of a burden in a PWA as you don't have great access to browser settings to fix this without leaving the PWA app and going into the browser directly and all that.

This is an Android/iOS limitation unfortunately. The “Allow push notifications” dialog is only allowed to be shown once. After that, there’s no way to display it again so the only way to adjust the permissions is via the settings app on your device.

Would be great to be able to edit/add to the bottom menu, especially now that Refresh is gone and there's space. For us, to have Forums and Events there would be so cool.

You can add items to mobile footer yourself if you wish, following topic describs it.

There are 2 ways, create your own mobile footer, and hide the exsistig one.

Or the option Ehren have posted there. Just add an extra button with javascript.

I used the first option first, then tested Ehren method, the only problem with that is that you get CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) issues. My users where annoyed with that. So reverted back to hiding the existing one, and made my own mobile footer again.

When notifications are not delivered, and you've checked your notification settings on the site to make sure push is ticked, then it will always be the OS stopping it.

That could be because you've previously blocked permissions, or it might be that you have focus mode on, or some other reason. As PanSevence suggests, try resetting permissions for the site and trying again.

This has done nothing to fix the issue.

Just to confirm, your OS settings for the Invision Community app (or whatever your PWA is called), looks like this?

Same problem for my users, iphone and android, no notifications.

Is this essentially the browser you set it up from in full screen view?

I did the "install", and my forum favicon is set as the image, but there is also a little Edge logo at the bottom right of it.

That implies the PWA didn’t install itself correctly. When a browser logo exists, it means it’s just a browser shortcut/bookmark on your Home Screen.

It seems Android has a few requirements when installing the PWA. In your Web App settings in the ACP, make sure you’ve uploaded an app icon and enable the manifest settings (you can keep them blank since the system will autofill them behind the scenes).

You’ll also need to be on https but I assume most sites are doing that naturally these days.

I use this now on iPhone 13 Pro, and it's nice and tidy, but I do miss the back button from the browser. Are there any plans to put on it?

No need for a back button 🙂 Swiping from the left to the right side of your iPhone will take you back (the same shortcut which is used in other apps, including Safari).

So it does, and I thought I was pretty tech savvy 🫣many thanks

Until I saw @Ehren ’s post about tapping the top, I didn’t know how to go to the top. 🙈

Just a few things, @Ehren @Matt.

Members of my community are saying they only get @ notifications; one user says they never get notifications when new articles are published, for example.

The user does have it set for new articles to be sent as notifications.

Are there any improvements for Android-based devices in terms of the splash screen and the size of the image in which it is displayed? (same for iOS really, at least for the logo size, but I do see they can have a cool background, as I have seen other site owners share theirs).

The PWA inclusion is a massive boost for my community, v5 has seen huge benefits and importantly my members love it.

Android automatically makes splash screens based on the manifest file, there isn’t a separate splash screen image like iOS. Instead, it makes its own using a combination of your site name, theme-color and your app icon.

By default, we don’t set a theme-color value since it prevents iOS from having a full-screen layout in the PWA, so I believe you’d need to assign one in the web app settings if you want Android splash screens to work (although I could be wrong here as I haven’t tested it myself).

We’re just waiting for the ability to configure the correct notification icon, as we still have this issue on 5.0.11.
