Invision Community 5.0.1 is now available via your Admin Control Panel

This release focuses on bugs reported since the release of 5.0.0 and features many editor and UI improvements. You can see the full list of fixes in our release notes section.

What's next?

This week we'll continue to triage and manage incoming bug reports and we expect to have another maintenance release out next week to ensure that bug fixes are resolved as quickly as possible. If we see anything more pressing, we'll release a patch which can be applied via your Admin Control Panel.

As always, thank you for your testing and reports. It really does help us!

Advert locations other than the header and footer are still not showing on the test site.

The bug report is still open, the issue has not been resolved yet. We're aiming for 5.0.2 for this.

I see this in v5.0.1 update: #3539: Better iframe allow attribute handling

However, I still cannot embed PDF files and Apple Music share links.

I do not see any changes made to the iframe sandbox allow attribute. It looks the same as before.

<p></p><div class="ipsEmbeddedOther" data-og-user_text="f"><iframe src="<___base_url___>/uploads/pdf_files/radio.pdf" class="ipsRawIframe" sandbox="allow-scripts allow-same-origin" allowfullscreen="" loading="lazy"></iframe></div>

We're still discussing this. To do what you need means effectively bypassing all iframe security and while it can be an option, it's a significant risk so we want to be sure we're thoughtful about it.

A patch is on its way to Cloud-Land for the following:

#3681: Fix rebuild achievements task for the AnswerMarkedBest Extension

This one worked perfectly.

I installed elasticsearch and got errors(((

Can you help?

Thank you.

In the search tab for Elasticsearch Server, the requirements are written:

Must be running at least version 7.2.0, but less than version 8.0.0.

But on the official repository on github - https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/releases

The oldest version 7 is Elasticsearch 7.17.27

And the latest current Elasticsearch is 8.17.2 Latest

What should I do?

We want to temporarily deploy our forum locally using a backup of the database to test updates on a subdomain.

Licensing: Will our license remain valid in this scenario, or could it be affected?

Allowed Subdomains: Are there any recommended or permissible subdomains for staging and testing environments?

Our goal is to ensure a smooth upgrade process before applying changes to the live instance. Let us know if there are any specific guidelines we should follow.
