Hey, it seems Google Authenticator for MFA has stoped working, QR images for enrrollement are not properly being generated.
It seems google has finally deprecated it and all querys to https://chart.googleapis.com/ are failing with a 404 error.
Information: https://developers.google.com/chart/infographics/docs/qr_codes

Yes, Google is turning the service on and off constantly to alert people they'll remove it soon.

That said, it's hilarious they mention using their new Charts API while it doesn't have a QR code option. 🤷‍♂️

Same problem here 😞

We have a bug report open for this to take a look at

Can confirm, I do have the same issue. I think an option for normal TOTP would be great so we could make use of 2FA Apps

Although it's labelled as 'Google Authenticator' it'll work with other authenticator apps.

That's right, now we just would need the option to generate the qr based on the auth code to have an easy onboarding

Same opinion. Showing QR image is much easier to add token rather than typing security texts manually on Google Auth App.

Yes, that is the intention and what usually happens. The problem is that the Google Charts API we use for QR codes (and other charts) has removed support for QR code generation. We're looking at alternatives for generating QR codes.

We have released a patch to address this issue. Please go to AdminCP > System > Support and apply the patch from the first/top left box. If you do not see an option to install the patch, you already have the latest release.

Patch worked perfectly for me.

Thanks.

Do you mean that it will be fixed when we update to the latest IPS version 4.7.16?
or need to install something other?

I'm not sure what is the Top-Left box other than Invision Community version.

Yes, all you would need to do is upgrade to 4.7.16. The fix will be included for you as you were not already on that version prior to this fix being released.
