I was about to install this patch earlier, and at the final step (to install) something cropped up and I left it for a while. When I returned, and clicked install/continue (or whatever it was), a message informed that it had timed out. But when I returned to the Support area in the ACP, there is no longer the optional patch. So, is the patch installed, or is it not? I have no idea.

    That's a stilly statement, absolute rubbish to make that claim. Personally I have zero plans to move to Cloud and will resist it for as long as I can. It's often slow, unreliable and is overpriced. S

Went to upgrade to the newest version, but got this message.

Should I automatically fix these when it prompts me to and roll forward or? Cloud-hosted btw

There are some problems with your database. Normally it is safe to try to fix these problems automatically however if your community is large, you may want to run the necessary queries manually. If so, the queries to run are:

ALTER TABLE `core_message_posts` DROP INDEX `index_content`;
ALTER TABLE `core_message_posts` ENGINE=InnoDB, ADD FULLTEXT KEY `msg_post` (`msg_post`);

Yes, running an automated fix when prompted is the best way under the circumstances.

I don't think that you have access to phpmyadmin if you are on Cloud so you can't run those queries yourself, if I am not mistaken. If you do have access to phpmyadmin instead, then all you have to do is as advised, copy/paste the queries inside the SQL Box of the database that you have used to install your forum.

If the automated fix or the running of the manual queries won't solve the issues, then you can start a ticket from your Client Area so one of the Ips staff can look into this for you.

Running these is completely fine on Cloud.

Tried running the upgrade. Clicked fix and it just searches for a solution for a while before timing out.

Error:

The problems with your database could not be fixed automatically.

ALTER TABLE `core_message_posts` ENGINE=InnoDB, ADD FULLTEXT KEY `msg_post` (`msg_post`);

Duplicate key name 'msg_post'

Please submit a ticket and we can get that resolved for you :).
