Yes, you can pay more to get less features with IC Cloud.

After moving my site I now have to pay for a third party Elasticsearch server, a third party email service, and get overall worse performance of the main cloud site. All for several hundred dollars more per month.

seems silly - when some of these seem so intuitive and were originally here. I totally do not understand the removal of html / source editing in the text area. Even wordpress allows for that still. lol

That is no fun to have to dig around not only to find something that will get it working again - but with an additional cost on top. :(

It's really not, to be honest. Seriously, this weird "unmarked white space that exists but doesn't really unless you click it" idea is a nonsense - both in usability terms and in WYSIWYG standards. If

For example, I add a class to an embedded YouTube video to center it. The embedded block does not respond to the centering buttons from editor.

I would step back somewhat here. If you are doing this in articles, and was allowing your users to do this, they could only do so if you allowed HTML posting. That is one of quite a few reasons its no longer present. Its not something that users should have ever been able to use as its very insecure to do this.

OK, so what you need to do. is add your embed as shown here

https://invisioncommunity.com/docs/91_general/posting-editor-r171/#6-embeds

You would be adding in your case, something like

*player.mediadelivery.net*

image.png

This tells the editor it is allowed to embed items from that location

Then you embed with the link icon in the editor.

When you enter a URL you have allowed to be iframed into the site, it will provide you with the embed icon, as shown below. So in this instance I have added your example URL

https://player.mediadelivery.net/embed/65654/bae2c6d3-bf81-4b6a-b548-ac54cb41b099?autoplay=false&loop=false&muted=true&preload=true&responsive=true

They made things really convoluted for this. It used to be really simple.

You can’t use raw html anymore. Even if you put it in a block, you can’t embed the block in any content area. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’m genuinely sorry to hear that you’re unhappy with the changes, Chris. However, the valid reasons behind them have been explained to you on several occasions. Again those are below if needed

Not everyone is going to like or understand the changes we make. And really, thats ok. However, in this particular instance, someone is simply asking for help with their site. Adding comments like this between the responses is not helpful and distracts from the assistance they are trying to receive.

I will look into this. thank you for the screenshots. I can see the reasoning - it not being on the front end for the reader, but not in the backend for the admin is kind of funny.

Thank you for the help.

giving an update - this is not working for me.

I had already added the correct url for the embed permissions.

I can add the link correctly - it gives me the world option, the I can see it in the editor. After I save it - it's not visible any longer. nothing is there. Thoughts on this? Why is it not showing on the front end? It is visible in the editor area.

You have clicked the world option to embed and its embedding fine in the editor? Do you have a link to the page? There may be an error on the page or with the embed causing the error.

here are a few shots- the one with the video is in the editor area. The link has been updated to an embed.

The blank article area is after it is published. the video embed disappears.

what are your suggestions on why this is happening and how to fix it. I really, really need to be able to embed my videos. This update has skued all the videos into weird shapes as it is... ugh. thank you for your help

Could you please provide a llink to the page in question?

it's a closed group - the link wouldn't work for viewing.

Could you temporarily put it somewhere we can view? Even if its just that post? Its difficult for us to help you diagnose without being able to see the item

ok. I did a bit of testing today - if it's a link from youtube it embeds it fine. if it's a video from vimeo it embeds in fine. from bunny.net it does not like. It strips it (actually it deletes the whole thing).

I had updated the admin area where it asks about reputable sites to embed from- to show the url possibilities from bunny but it's not doing anything. still behaves the same.

In the admin area where it has the embed information - it does mention an app to add for the iframe. I did a test with my video link url (bunny link) and it behaved the same. so even if I was to purchase this app, it does not work.

Are you embeding using the link button? I ask as it wont just embed on adding a URL to the editor. You should be clicking the link icon, add the link on there, and you will see a globe icon to embed if its allowed in your admin CP

this is what I have done. just the link. then the globe. in the preview it works. when it is saved and viewed live - it's gone. the whole thing. no link, no video embed - totally removed from the text block.

I'd like to see the ability to turn an icon into a link. (For anyone who is interested, I have a workaround - add a space before and after the icon, select the space-icon-space, and add a link to this.)

But to address more specifically UI and accessibility: please add the ability to edit the tooltip for icons. The inability to add our own specific meaning (rather then the generic, inbuilt icon description) is an accessibility issue. For example, I have tried out a couple of return to menu buttons (icons) which I use at the end of sections within longer Pages, but 'file-arrow-up' and 'rectangle-list' tooltips do not cut it.

I'd highly advise on creating a new feedback item on this.

Is there someone that I could reach out to- to get additional help on this? I have done everything that was mentioned and nothing is allowing the embed to stay when it goes live or when I save it.

Who do I contact for this? thank you!

You would contact us. As mentioned, you would need to put that in a public area temporarily so we can see it in action. Without doing this, we are unable to assist currently

this is a page that I have added the link (after the main image) and it has deleted it.

I added the link, clicked the world, it shows the embed window and then when it is save- it vanishes with no trace.

Unfortunately Im not able to replicate on any of our environments. Please create a free trial on our cloud and see if you can replicate it there. If you can, we can certainly take a look for you

I just did this - https://b337213.invisionservice.com/

again- not working. I have added the allowed embed into the posting authorized in admin area.

Dropped the link into the page - preview shows, it goes away when saved.

Are you trying the replication with Bunny.net hosting for videos? The application works for all the other videos (youtube, vimeo) but it does not for bunny hosting.

Adding another note-

If I edit ANY of the previous articles that I used the embed code for my videos - they are removed. Sigh. This is becoming a large issue with me as these are course videos and are needed. I seriously don't have the time to go back to every single one of these articles, find the video and edit the code so they click to go off site to watch. This is NOT user friendly at all. They should be able to watch on site.

Not sure what to do about ALL these embedded videos..... would really like to have this settled. Is there a support ticket that I can submit? I've been struggling with this for far too long.
