The default ones are barely to see in dark mode as well. You have to upload a separate logo for dark mode in theme editor.

Depending on when you had downloaded the v5 files there is a possibility you need a patch. There are several file size settings in different sections. Gallery, Downloads, System. All do different things. So what are you trying to upload and where? In ACP you can search for size and you get at least three different ones.

If you uploaded all files of v5 via FTP to your current installation of version 4 your site shouldn't work anymore. So did you upload them to the right directory? Sorry, I have to ask because you should expect weird behaviour of your site.

Did you all apply the patch for Beta 8.

Tried this as well and everything works as expected. I don't say there is no bug, but my guess is that something different has to be off with your installation.

I can't replicate this. I tested it with Beta 8 and my icons and images change in subcategories and forums. I switch between grid and table view and all seems okay. Do you have any sort of cache in place?

If the category has no parent category no image or icon is shown. It is only shown when the category is a subcategory. When you set a category image/icon it's only for the category itself, forums have their own image/icon. So you need to set it for each forum.

I know what you meant. But the option is simply not there. So my guess is v5 doesn't have it.

It seems the option is gone for the user. You can only set it on a global level in your theme. As a workaround you could create two themes.

After removal of the topic rating in Forums this seems to only relate to records in Pages / Files in Downloads and Gallery I guess.. You have to switch to a Pages database where the possibility to rate a record is still available.

While I don't argue with the 0 and 1 part it's sometimes easier to find something in your files when you know where to look. F.e. I coincidentally found an orphaned Downloads file which should long have been deleted but somehow wasn't. I agree that shouldn't happen. I agree for us as users of your software it shouldn't make a difference. But I think your approach is a bit too technical and doesn't consider how human beings work sometimes 🙂 I agree that the current storage system is overwhelming and not very user friendly. If I remember correctly when I moved my Downloads files outside web root I moved everything of Downloads out of web root which of course didn't work because the screenshots weren't available in the browser then. But I think there is some kind of compromise 🙂

Currently, I store my files for Downloads outsite webroot. Only these files, nothing else. This prevents direct linking to the file itself. As a user you always have to use the software to reach the files. Do you have any plans how the files are protected against direct linking or is this already implemented? Explanation: I bought your complete package in 2009 and somewhere it was suggested that for Downloads you should use a folder outside webroot to protect against direct linking. But please don't ask me where I read that here... 🙂

Well, the feature is not removed yet. Second, I constantly evaluate if the money is worth it or not. Currently, for me, it is. No doubt. So, if the future removal of this feature is critical for you start looking for alternatives. Start now, so you have a plan B if it comes into action, even if it's long away.

Nothing will happen when you upgrade from v4 to v5 regarding storage location. This is a deprecation warning for a future release. When, we don't know yet.

I did. Nothing changed for me. All menus closed. Latest Firefox on MacOS.

For me as a guest all are closed everytime. So if I click a record all categories are closed again. On desktop and phone.

I'm sure @Ehren will come with a suitable solution for us. 🙂 As my style is default the s on the next line shouldn't happen.

The phrase follower is off. Yes. Okay, I don't know how it was before. But it didn't change for me from 7 to 8. The dropdown opens in a nice menu and if I click on the box the followers open. So I can't see the weird display you showed in the first post.

I can't confirm this on iOS 18 with Safari on Beta 7.

Upgraded from 6 to 7, this time with PHP 8.2.26. No problem. Should we test 8.3 next time again?
