the upgrade from IPS 4.7.19 to 5.0 beta 10 hangs at the beginning of the process and generates an error message.
I can neither retry nor continue the upgrade, nor can I go back to version 4.7.19 by uploading a buckup. here is the error

A little confused by the statement there. What is stopping you from going back to version 4.7.19? Have you upgraded your live site?

Try to re-add the aforementioned table and see if it would help.

May I ask as to why you can't revert back to 4.1.9? 

I had this exact error message when I forgot to disable the third-party apps/plugins I used. Are you sure you've done this? The upgrade was flawless for me when I remembered to do this key step.

You would want to ask your hosting provider for assistance here with our backup if you attempted an upgrade of your live site. It is not recommended to upgrade live sites unless you are comfortable with errors that may come during a Beta phase.

That error indicates that the server is returning HTML instead of JSON. Can you check the response headers and status code of the server's response to see if there's any error being returned? 

The backup file, how was generated and how did you try to restore it? Can you give us some details on that? 

Please also ensure you are reverting both SQL and files back to their original state. Also if you updated PHP or anything like that, make sure those are switched to what was previously working

I am still not able to solve my problem, I have asked my host many times but does nothing, he thinks it is a problem with the software vendor.

I was able to upload the backup of version 4.4.0, and deleted all third-party apps and plugins, all tables are in innoDB and in dynamic format, there are two core_social_promote [content and share] in the database

still unable to upgrade to version 4.7.19 giving the same error message:

I would suggest getting back to that working state so we can take a look first of all. Once you get back to that working state, update all access details in the client area so we can take a look at your installation

You cannot upgrade to v5 from older versions than v4.5.0 (we’ll make that clear in the upgrader), you will need to upgrade to 4.7.* first.

Yes, I am trying upgrading to version 4.7.19 which I downloaded just yesterday.

How are you restoring? Are you restoring both the files and the database? Asking as it sounds like you arent restoring everything fully. Also did you change anything else when you did your upgrade such as PHP version? (I suspect you will have), and did you also revert that back first?

I had the full backup downloaded from cpanel and uploaded by it , and only the 4.4.0 which supposedly works I think

PHP version is 8.1, I tried 8.0 and it didn't change anything.

Switch back to PHP 7.4 for version 4.4.0.

It sounds to me like you are also having issues with the PHP 8 versions, if you are having problems restoring later backups. When you switched, did you use the requirement checker to ensure everything was then still compatible?

All PHP 7 version are deprecated

Yes, everything was checked, I didn't see anything wrong, I had only one remark, saying that PHP version 8.3 would be better but version 8.1 is compatible. the host does not offer version 8.35

As far as I recall:

• Version 4.4 doesn’t support PHP 8, which is why you need 7.4.

  • However, support for PHP 7.4 was added in version 4.4.10, if you have a previous version, you might need an even older PHP version: https://invisioncommunity.com/release-notes/4410-r93/

    • Added support for PHP 7.4

• PHP 8 was supported starting with version 4.6.

• Only version 4.7 supports PHP 8.1

• PHP 8.2+ is not supported by version 4, but only by the new 5.0.0 version.

While it’s deprecated, if you want to restore your 4.4 version backup, you need to use 7.4 (or an earlier version if you’re not on 4.4.10). 🙄

I just forgot to mention that version 7.4 return HTTP ERROR 500, I tried it twice

You must upload the requirement tool inside the root folder of your forum and point your browser to it.

That’s the upgrade page. The error you are getting with the upgrade is due to a missing database table. Try to add it in the database and give the upgrade another go.
