Hi
me again 😞

I tried to update a language pack from a file and got the error.
Then I tried to install one from the MarketPlace, same error.
See full message below.

Any ideas how to fix that?
system cache cleared, all files on the server, searched this forum...

thank you
McLouis

Sorry, you do not have permission for that!

You would need to contact the author of the language packs on this, but it actually looks like you may not be using utf8mb4 on your database. If you go to Support (top right of your admin CP) are you getting any messages relating to this under the mysql section?

Oh yes,
thanks will do backup, conversion and report.

No problem. That will indeed be what is causing the issue for you 🙂

Thank you Marc
That fixed the installation issue
Sorry it´s an old database that came from a conversion from another system long time ago

One additional question:
I have now the old language pack "locked" and it will not change even if I assign the new one to everyone.
Should I just ignore?

Locked just means that it is set as your default so you cannot disable it.

I understand this, but I changed my default to the new pack from MarketPlace.
Via "Set as member´s language"
So now it should be able to delete it, right. Or is there another place...
But the new one is not locked, the old one stays...
Sorry to bother you with his

You would need to edit the language pack and set it to the default. The "Set as member's language" would not mean your language pack is set as default, it just allows you to change those members in those groups to use a specific language pack.
