How do you change the layout of the articles homepage in v5?
I believe that’s found in the theme editor.

How do you change the image for a thread in the Post Feed block?
You would ideally post a topic with an image included. I do this for my announcements here: https://administrata.net/forum/4-news-announcements/ In other topics, I don’t care much about images since the majority of members don’t use them. Otherwise, you’d just end up with placeholders in the widgets, which looks bad in my opinion. So I disabled images in the widgets for a cleaner look. And if you want to change, you'd change the topic and insert an image like I've done in those topics above. Not ideal, but it works. Reminder: doesn't go instantly, cached.

Worth mentioning this is cached. If you change the image, it takes up to 5 min to reflect.

Community Design & Development by Administrata
We make communities feel alive. Sometimes that means a theme that sets the tone - bright and immersive-like, or clean and elegant-like. Other times it means building apps that give your site new abilities, or stepping in to help restructure and overhaul a community that’s lost its spark. Our focus is always the same: give your members a place that looks great, runs smoothly, and feels welcoming. We can adapt one of our existing designs to fit your brand, build something completely new, or roll up our sleeves and help manage the bigger picture. What we do covers: Crafting unique themes and design tweaks that bring personality to your site Developing applications to extend what Invision can do Guiding communities through overhauls and ongoing management so they thrive We can help spark engagement by seeding your community with content Optimizing your community for search so it ranks higher, attracts visitors, and grows naturally If you want your Invision Community to look stunning, work better, and feel more alive - we can make it happen. We bring value to your community - whether that’s peer-to-peer or on a global scale through Administrata

Until I saw @Ehren ’s post about tapping the top, I didn’t know how to go to the top. 🙈

Update to V5
There is a 3rd party html application that may be of use: https://invision-market.com/apps/admin/edit-html-of-posts-r1/ I’m not familiar with it, so I don’t know if it will work with pages.
-
Update to V5
All will be intact. As fas as 3rd party goes, it will most likely break. So you’d need to update to the v5 version if there is one. Most if not all, data will remain.

Most likely yes. I wouldn’t mind having a go at it to make a small hook and share it here.

Subscription booking receipts are being submitted hundreds of times by guests - fake!
In my experience, it is usually a bot accessing the store. Best you can do is disable guest access or ignore. Invoices expire when they’re not paid after x amount of time.

Complaint and Suggestions about Archiving
I don’t really use the archive option, I come from an era where we did that manually. Manually making an archive forum, moving content to there (possibly with topic multi tools, don’t recall the name on Invision at the moment, would need to look it up), just keeping it clean. Doesn’t change numbers, doesn’t do weird stuff.

Self-Hosted or Step Child? 5.0.10
What this really shows is that you didn’t do your research before buying. You spent money on something you ended up disappointed with—not because the product changed, but because you didn’t fully understand it from the start. And now, instead of taking accountability, you're venting publicly. But here’s the truth: whatever point you think you're making against Invision, it's actually just working against you.

Self-Hosted or Step Child? 5.0.10
Matt mentioned that self-hosted accounts for only around 12% of sales, if I’m remembering correctly. It’s clear Invision doesn’t want to completely drop support for it—but it is a shrinking market. In a few years, that 12% could very well drop to 2%, or even lower. Also, just a suggestion: it might be worth taking a moment to reflect on your own tone. It’s not helpful to call others out for behavior you’re also exhibiting yourself.

Self-Hosted or Step Child? 5.0.10
IonCube isn’t even enabled by default on most shared hosting environments—unless you specifically request it from your provider. And even then, there’s a good chance they’ll decline. So relying on IonCube as a method of licensing control isn’t a great move. Timers aren’t much better either. If a customer downgrades mid-term, how do you cleanly handle that? A timer won’t necessarily reflect changes in their agreement, and it opens the door to people bypassing restrictions. These methods sound good on paper but are far from practical in a real-world setting.

Self-Hosted or Step Child? 5.0.10
It makes sense in theory—but in practice, it's not so feasible or easy to manage compared to the Cloud model. Take this example: you decide to go all-in on premium features, which costs $500 a year, versus sticking with a basic $200 license. Later, you decide to downgrade back to the $200 plan. What happens to the extra features you were paying for? Will every customer voluntarily remove or stop using them? Maybe. But realistically, many wouldn’t—they’d continue using the extra features without paying. There’s no easy way to monitor, restrict, or disable those features on self-hosted sites. It would put unnecessary strain on the Invision team to police licenses or enforce compliance. So while the idea of modular licensing is appealing, the practical execution—especially on self-hosted installs—is far more complex.

Self-Hosted or Step Child? 5.0.10
If there’s one thing I noticed and know. Invision isn’t greedy and doesn’t do it purely out of money. No. They do it out of passion, but that passion became a business and business needs to be sustainable. Sorry, my blood is boiling reading comments from people saying it’s pure greed. It’s not.
