Side note, whenever I press on this topic from the homepage on an iPhone, it’s taking me half way so I have to scroll to the latest post again. Not sure if connected in any way if you’re running it here now?

Just standard Safari, not using the web app.

This is potentially due to the video dimensions not being known during page load, causing a slight jump. I don’t believe it’s a PWA issue per se.

  • I don’t think you can compare the speed of a production site against my localhost connected to a tunnel via ngrok so I could record on my phone using a site in dev mode with all caching off.

  • I can hear that gif lol

  • Ehren is available at the Genius Bar in the Apple Store this weekend to demonstrate how phones work in person.

No it’s the post after my gif that I posted

Loading animation

Navigating between pages in PWAs could sometimes cause confusion due to the lack of a loading indicator. To alleviate this, a custom loading animation has been added which should reassure your visitors that the next page is actually loading. It’s a subtle addition, but it's one which many visitors would expect to see in modern mobile apps - and now they can!

It should also appear when you press the back button but this does not happen

Just confirmed that it never works

What device and OS version are you using @EliasM ?

The animation Is only applied when tapping links in the PWA. Pressing the back button or viewing your community in a standard browser such as Safari or Chrome won’t display the animation.

I remember the slider was working when I downloaded the progressive web app for this site but for some reason I can't download it now

You can try this website to check

https://administrata.net/

@Ehren Have you checked?

It’s something we will look into, however I’ve been unable to reproduce the issue myself so I’ll need to look into this further.

You should be able to reproduce the problem because it doesn't work on this site

I have, yes. And it’s working fine for me so it’ll take some more time to look into.

Strange, it doesn't work for me

Ignore the problem because it works for me now😂

But it is supposed to work when you press any button, there are some buttons that do not make it appear such as the back button, or pressing user accounts

I can fix the profile links, I know why that’s happening. There are currently no plans to display the indicator when pressing the back button though. And to be fair, most of the time this is instant anyway.

Ok thanks

Is it possbile to see somewhere how many users are using the app?

Yes, this is quite important from the perspective of this community. Such a statistic would be very useful. I believe we currently can't access such a statistic.

In theory it might be possible by checking (display-mode: standalone) but it’s not something we’re currently tracking.

Would be nice if that could be added somewhere in CP under statistics.

Yes, it definitely should be.
The inability to track an existing feature that concerns the community is a major shortcoming from the community's perspective. I believe the Invision Community team should urgently add this. Statistics are everything!

Some users in ipad report that when they see the black banner with the notification that there is an App, and then they try to click the "More Information" link. Then nothing shows up.

From what version of ipad's/safari should that link work?

Any latest supported version really. What version is having the issue?

This is what is see at the user:
Chrome 137.0.7151.107 on iPad
Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; CPU OS 16_6_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) CriOS/137.0.7151.107 Mobile/15E148 Safari/604.1

I would suggest getting them to update first of all. If they are on iOS 16.6.1 they are out of date on that version

This was fixed yesterday and will be patched in the final 5.0.10 (non-beta) version 👍

iPadOS 16.6 is quite outdated but it should work fine on that version.

Love it. @Ehren mate, these updates are truly chef kisses.

Give this man a pay rise!

Haha I’m glad you like them, they were fun improvements to work on! Thanks for the feedback!
