Twitter is now using the x.com domain which means tweets are no longer embedding properly.

Wouldn't call it a bug, more a case of Elon Musk being a tool. Still needs looking at though.

Yeah… X/twitter’s reliability lately is woefully inadequate and inconsistent. 

Any experience with embedding Threads?

You probably need to go through a Facebook approval process that frankly very few have the energy for.

Just to note, the facebook approval process is for embedding threads, not for helping with posting before merge time expires
